Abstract: A sliding-type portable terminal is provided to increase the convenience of usage by providing an elastic member to supply elastic force to slide the second housing so that if a user moves the second housing only at a partial section, the second housing can be automatically shifted by the elastic force of the elastic member at the other section. A sliding-type portable terminal(100), which consists of the first housing(101) and the second housing(102), comprises a guide member(201) and an elastic member(203). The second housing(102), coupled to the first housing(101), makes a rectilinear round-trip motion, facing the first housing(101). The guide member(201), installed at the first housing(101), is coupled so as to make a sliding motion in the state of enclosing the edge of the rear case(102b) of the second housing(102). Both side ends of the guide member(201) are enclosed by the front case(102a) of the second housing(102). The elastic member(203), of which both ends respectively are supported by the guide member(201) and the rear case(102b), provides elastic force which acts in the direction that the two ends go away from each other.
