Abstract: A back light assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to uniformly make the temperature distribution according to the position of a flat fluorescent lamp, thereby reducing the moving rate of mercury. A flat fluorescent lamp is received into a receiving container, divided into plural discharge spaces and generates the light. A heat emission member is arranged at the lower portion of the flat fluorescent lamp and supplies the heat to the flat fluorescent lamp and has a heat emission portion(450) having the density in inverse proportion to the temperature distribution according to the position of the flat fluorescent lamp. The heat emission portion includes first plural heat emission lines(452) arranged longitudinally to the discharge space. Second plural heat emission lines(454) are arranged vertically to the first plural heat emission lines.
