    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a novel curcumin derivative having anti-angiogenesis activity and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating unregulated angiogenesis-related diseases, comprising the same as an effective ingredient. CONSTITUTION: The curcumin derivative is represented by the formula I, wherein each of R1 and R4 is H or a C1-C4 alkyl group, each of R2 and R3 is H or a C1-C4 alkoxy group, each of R5 and R6 is nitrogen atom or oxygen atom; in case that both of R5 and R6 are nitrogen atoms, each of R5 and R6 is substituted by OR7(in which, R7 is hydrogen, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, an alkaryl, or an aralkyl) or R5 and R6 form a hydrazine group-containing ring, and R5 and R6 may be non-substituted or independently substituted by an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, an alkaryl or an aralkyl; in case that R1 is H, R2 is not methoxy group, R3 is not hydrogen or methoxy group, R4 is not hydrogen, and R5 and R6 are not oxygen. The pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating unregulated angiogenesis-related diseases comprises an effective amount of the curcumin derivative together with a pharmaceutical acceptable carrier.
