    Abstract: PURPOSE: A safety joint device for a robot is provided to prevent a compression spring from being deformed by allowing the end of a spring guide to be rotatable. CONSTITUTION: A safety joint device(100) for a robot comprises a fixing unit(110) and a rotating unit(120). The rotating unit is rotatably coupled to the fixing unit. A cam unit(124) is protruded from the center of the rotating unit. The fixing unit comprises followers(117) and an elastic units(114). The elastic units restrict the rotation motion of the rotating unit by applying elastic force to the followers. When a value more than critical torque is inputted to the rotating unit, the cam unit is separated from the followers.
