Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for displaying an amputation plane of a knee joint are provided to have help from a system by matching a part to be cut with a cutting guide line. CONSTITUTION: An axis completion unit(5) completes a virtual anatomical axis. A hip joint rotation center coordinate extracting unit(70) extracts a rotation center coordinate of a hip joint using an optimization method. A femur and tibia coordinate acquisition unit(72) acquires a coordinate about anatomical characteristics of a femur and tibia using a probe. An axis reproduction unit(74) reproduces the virtual anatomical axis by using the rotation center coordinate of the hip joint and the anatomical characteristics of the femur and tibia.
