Abstract:
PURPOSE: Novel bicyclic amine derivatives, processes for preparing them, insecticidal compositions comprising them and methods of using them, are provided to combat and control insect pests. CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula (I): P-R2-Q or an acid addition salt, quaternary ammonium salt or N-oxide derived therefrom, are provided. In formula (I), each of P and Q is, independently, a group of formula (B): wherein J is CH2-CH2 or CH=CH; R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted 6-membered heterocyclic ring containing only one nitrogen as the heteroatom, and at least one unsaturation (double bond) between adjacent atoms in the ring, said heterocyclic ring being optionally fused to a benzene ring, wherein the substituents, if present, are selected from halogen atoms, cyano, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, haloalkenyl, alkylthio and alkyl amino groups, any of which groups contain up to six carbon atoms; R2 is a bidentate linking group and is a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene, alkylenearyl, alkyleneheteroaryl, (wherein the heteroaryl is pyridinyl, pyrimidynyl, pyridaznyl, pyrazinyl, triazinyl (1,2,3- or 1,2,4- or 1,3,5-), furyl, thienyl, pyrrolyl, pyrazoyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, (1,2,3- or 1,2,4-), tetrazolyl, oxazolyl, isoxazolyl, thiazolyl, isothiazolyl, oxadiazolyl, thiadiazolyl, quinolinyl, isoquinolinyl, cinnolinyl, quinazolinyl, quinoxalinyl, indolinyl, isoindolinyl, benzofuranyl, benzothienyl or benzimidazolinyl), alkenylene, alkylenylarylalkylenyl, carbonyl or diacyl group, provided that when R2 is alkenylene or alkylenylarylalkylenyl said group does not have an unsaturated carbon atom bonding directly to the ring nitrogen of formula (B); R3 is cyano.
