Abstract: The present invention provides a smart traffic control system. The smart traffic control system for a crosswalk where pedestrian traffic lights and vehicle traffic lights are installed includes an image processing unit which takes images of a road where a crosswalk is installed to detect a vehicle approaching the crosswalk and sense the position, the speed, and the acceleration of the vehicle or images of the crosswalk to detects a pedestrian crossing the crosswalk; a traffic light control unit which controls the pedestrian traffic lights and the vehicle traffic lights; a warning unit which is installed at the crosswalk and outputs a visible or audible warning; a communication unit (400) which performs wireless communication; and a control unit which receives information about the detected vehicle and the detected pedestrian from the image processing unit, receives the traffic light information of each traffic light from the traffic light control unit, and, if any danger of an accident at the crosswalk is detected from the information, controls the warning unit to output a warning or transmits the information about the danger of an accident through the communication unit.
