Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a composition comprising, as an active ingredient, sauchinone for treatment and prophylaxis of inflammatory diseases. It has anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting inducible expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2). CONSTITUTION: A composition for treatment and prophylaxis of inflammatory diseases is characterized by comprising, as an active ingredient, sauchinone represented by the formula(I). The inflammatory diseases include articular rheumatism or asthma. The sauchinone is isolated and purified from the Saururs chinesis(Lour.) extract.

Abstract translation: 目的：提供一种组合物，其包含用于治疗和预防炎症性疾病的作为活性成分的雄黄酮。 通过抑制环氧合酶-2（COX-2）的诱导表达具有抗炎作用。 构成：用于治疗和预防炎性疾病的组合物的特征在于，含有由式（I）表示的橙酮作为活性成分。 炎性疾病包括关节风湿病或哮喘。 sauchinone是从Saururs chinesis（Lour。）提取物中分离和纯化的。
