    Abstract: PURPOSE: A model for estimating the design construction cost of a public apartment based on CBR is provided to perform the calculation of construction cost based on the amount of materials, thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of the estimation. CONSTITUTION: A design phase to predict is set up(S20). Parts to predict are selected(S50). The basic information of an apartment complex and the building information of each building are inputted(S60). An index according to the input information is compared in a database(S70). A similar case is selected by a CBR(Case based Reasoning) algorithm(S80). By the comparison with the selected similar case, a similar case is selected(S90,S100). The manpower/material quantity of the selected similar case is extracted from a material amount database(S110).
