Abstract: PURPOSE: A process of preparing a cosmetic composition is provided by using polymethylsilsesquioxane instead of an emulsifier which is easy to induce skin irritation. Whereby, the composition induces no photodermatoses, has excellent durability and can be easily removed. CONSTITUTION: Polymethylsilsesquioxane having an average particle size of 0.3 to 1.0 microns is dispersed in an oil component in an amount of 0.5 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the oil component and then introduced into an aqueous phase to give a stable water-in-oil emulsion in which polymethylsilsesquioxane particles are arranged on the interface between a water droplet having a size of 1 to 10 microns as an inner phase and oil as an outer phase.
