    Abstract: Disclosed is a color composition containing a polymerizable monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond, a transparent resin having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond, a coloring agent and an organic solvent. The ratio of the solubility parameter Mof the polymerizable monomer relative to the double-bond equivalent weight Mof the polymerizable monomer, namely M/Mis not more than 0.10, and the ratio of the solubility parameter Pof the transparent resin relative to the double-bond equivalent weight Pof the transparent resin, namely P/Pis not less than 0.012.     Abstract: A colored composition for a color filter is provided to improve a contrast ratio, to implement ideal retardation, and to obtain a color filter with visibility in a forward direction. A colored composition for a color filter comprises pigment carrier consisting of resins, precursors thereof and their mixtures; pigment; and a melamine compound having a methylol imino group. The content of the melamine compound is 2~30 weight% based on the weight of pigment. The melamine compound is a melamine compound represented by chemical formula 1 or condensate thereof. In chemical formula 1, R1~R4 are independently CH2OCH3, CH2OC4H9, H or CH2OH.

    Abstract: A color filter is provided with a red filter segment, a green filter segment and a blue filter segment on a substrate. The color filter is suitable for a liquid crystal display device wherein a white LED is used as a light source. The white LED has spectroscopic characteristics wherein a wavelength (U1) has maximum emission intensity within a range of 430nm-485nm, a peak wavelength (U2) of a second emission intensity within a range of 530nm-580nm, and a ratio (I2/I1) of an emission intensity (I2) with the wavelength (U2) to an emission intensity (I1) with the wavelength (U1) is 0.2 or more but not more than 0.7. The red filter segment has a 50% transmittance wavelength within a range of 595-610nm, and a transmittance of 85% or more with a wavelength of 630nm. The blue filter segment has a maximum transmittance wavelength of 455nm or less, and a transmittance of 55% or more with a wavelength of 450nm. Each thickness of the red filter segment, the green filter segment and the blue filter segment is 3.0mum or less.
