Abstract: An apparatus for generating polarized signals for quantum key distribution can comprise a wave guide including a plurality of output ends outputting light; a plurality of polarizers including different polarizing control directions; and a phase modulator capable of collecting light outputted from the wave guide in one of the determined polarizers by modulating the phase of light outputted through the output ends. The apparatus effectively generates the polarized signal used in BB84 protocols using a polarizing signal generator for the quantum key distribution.
