Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for self-fault detection of a microphone and an audio-based device are provided to improve the reliability of a system through a self-control operation of an audio signal received to a defective microphone. CONSTITUTION: A self-failure detector(200) generates a reference wave signal of a failure diagnosis, and detects the defect of the microphone by comparing a pre-stored reference signal with an audio signal received to the microphone. A control unit(300) controls the processing of an audio signal inputted from the defective microphone according to a defect allowance level reference value of a system for the defective microphone.
