PURPOSE: An extract for improving glucose homeostasis, which is produced by fermenting ginseng with lactobacillus is provided to maintain or improve glucose homeostasis and to be effectively used in treating diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a ginseng fermentation extract for improving glucose homeostasis comprises: a step of suspending ginseng powder in purified water; a step of fermenting the suspended liquid of ginseng powder with lactobacillus; a step of extracting the fermentation and filtering; and a step of decompressing the filtered liquid. Lactobacillus is bifidobacterium longum KFRI 00977. The extraction solvent is ethanol or butanol. The white, red, and sun ginseng extract is isolated by extracting with ethanol or butanol at 60°C-80°C for two to four hours. A ginseng fermentation extract for improving glucose homeostasis contains 3.0-6.0% of Rh1, 0.2-0.8% of comp. K, and 0-1.0% of Rh2 ginsenoid.
