Abstract: A system for managing digital image features and a method thereof are provided to extract an intrinsic feature from a digital still image to efficiently mange a large sized image, thereby enabling a user to efficiently a necessary still image. A still image feature extractor(300) extracts feature information of a digital image. A still image feature classifier(400) classifies the extracted feature information and feature information stored in a still image feature database(500). A still image searcher(600) outputs images larger than a specific threshold value as a search result by measuring degree of similarity between feature information read from the still image feature database and the extracted feature information.

Abstract translation: 提供了一种用于管理数字图像特征的系统及其方法，用于从数字静止图像中提取固有特征以有效地管理大尺寸图像，从而使得用户能够有效地获得必要的静止图像。 静止图像特征提取器（300）提取数字图像的特征信息。 静止图像特征分类器（400）将所提取的特征信息和存储在静止图像特征数据库（500）中的特征信息进行分类。 静止图像搜索器（600）通过测量从静止图像特征数据库读取的特征信息与所提取的特征信息之间的相似度，输出大于特定阈值的图像作为搜索结果。

Abstract: 본 발명은 디지털 영상 특징 관리 시스템 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 디지털 정지 영상으로부터 고유한 특징을 추출하여 특정 이미지 정보의 인식이나 동일한 이미지의 검색 및 유사 이미지 분류 등 대용량 영상을 효율적으로 관리함으로써, 인터넷 상이나 하드 디스크 상에 유통 혹은 보관되어 있는 방대한 양의 정지영상을 빠르게 분류하고 사용자에게 필요한 정지 영상을 효율적으로 검색하는데 유용하며 고의적, 비고의적인 공격에 의해 변형된 영상에서도 쉽고 빠른 분류 및 검색이 가능하다. 또한, 향후 도래할 개인형 멀티미디어 시대에 매우 유용하게 활용될 뿐만 아니라, 갈수록 늘어가고 있는 콘텐츠 기반의 영상 검색 분야에서 중추적인 역할을 수행할 수 있다.
