PURPOSE: A method for scheduling packets of an MC-CDMA(Multi-Code Cord Division Multiple Access) system is provided to improve a performing capacity by performing a scheduling system for packets, through using a property that sub codes do not interfere each other because the sub codes lie at right angles, when many mobile stations in cells want to transmit variable bit rate traffic in the MC-CDMA system. CONSTITUTION: A method for scheduling packets in an MC-CDMA(Multi-Code Cord Division Multiple Access) system which transmits packets by sub codes, after assigning the sub codes which do not interfere each other, to one user to transmit data having a VBR(Variable Bit Rate), comprises the steps of: informing the number of packets accumulated on a user's buffer by the user, when the packets for transmitting to a base station are transmitted to the user's buffer; identifying the number of the accumulated packets; and transmitting all the packets stored in the user's buffer by the sub codes, after the base station allows the transmission of the packets to the user, when the number of the accumulated packets are preset number.

PURPOSE: A multicast handoff method in a multi-tier cell system is provided to consider a cell number of a lower layer and loads of an upper layer and the lower layer, and to perform a handoff of a specific multicast group service to the upper and the lower layer. Therefore, it is possible to supply services to more users, and to improve channel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: In case that load of an upper layer reaches a specific threshold value, when a lower layer cell number of users included in a specific multicast group is smaller than the threshold value, a handoff is performed in the multicast group as lower layer cells. On the other hand, when loads of the lower layer cells are larger than the specific threshold value, a handoff is performed for the multicast group in the upper layer.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: A channel estimator of a multi channel CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system and an estimating method thereof are provided to set up mutually different average blocks per each channel, so that more than two data channels requesting different quality of service exist. CONSTITUTION: Pilot signal processing units(31,32) de-spread pilot channels, and average pilot symbols during predetermined blocks, to output an estimating temporary channel coefficient. A temporary data detector(33) detects temporary data for each data channel, using signals of multi data channels and the estimating temporary channel coefficient. Multi data channel averaging units(35,37) average corresponding data channels during predetermined blocks, to estimate a temporary channel coefficient reducing the influence by a symbol error and interruption of the data channel. A summer(39) sums channel coefficients estimated from the pilot signal processing units(31,32) and the multi data channel averaging units(35,37), to output a final channel coefficient.
