Disclosed are a device and a method for providing a viewpoint image. The apparatus for providing the viewpoint image includes a panoramic image generation unit for generating a panoramic image using a cube map including a margin area by acquiring an omnidirectional image; a mesh information generation unit for generating three-dimensional mesh information which uses the panoramic image as a texture by acquiring three-dimensional data; and a user data rendering unit for rendering the panoramic image and the mesh information into user data according to a position and a direction inputted from a user.

PURPOSE: A three-dimensional (3D) model generating device and a method thereof are provided to easily generate a 3D model by generating the 3D model of a static background with 'a point cloud and an image obtained through 3D scanning'. CONSTITUTION: An image matching unit (110) matches 'a point cloud obtained by scanning of a predetermined area' to 'a camera image obtained by filming of the predetermined area' and generates matching images. A mesh model generating unit (120) generates 'an object located in a predetermined area' as a mesh model. PURPOSE: A customized high-quality 3d avatar forming method and an apparatus thereof are provided to offer a high-quality 3D avatar for a user easily and quickly. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus extracts the feature point of a face(S50). The apparatus generates texture data which is mapped to the face of a 3D avatar(S60). The apparatus combines 3D body data and face data. The apparatus generates a user avatar(S80). The apparatus applies face animation, and muscle or body animation to the generated 3D avatar of the user. The apparatus renders the 3D avatar in high quality(S90).
