Abstract: 본 발명의 목적은 잡음을 추정하고 보상함으로써 광섬유 내에서 매질의 깊이를 깊게 식별함과 아울러 획득한 매질 정보의 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있는 시간 영역에서의 계층 식별 방법을 제공하는 것이다. 상기 목적을 달성하기 위해, 본 발명에 따른 시간 영역에서의 계층 식별 방법은, 매질 내에서 신호의 전달을 표현하기 위한 커플드 모드 방정식(Coupled Mode Equations)을 제공하는 제 1 단계(S100)와, 상기 커플드 모드 방정식을 이산화(Discretized)시키는 제 2 단계(S200)와, 이산화시 발생하는 역산란 문제를 해결하기 위해 가산성 백색 가우시안 잡음을 갖는 생성 행렬(Generator Matrix)을 적용하는 제 3 단계(S300)와, 상기 생성 행렬의 초기값(Initial Value)에서 시작하여 상기 커플드 모드 방정식에 의해 정의된 재귀적 절차에 의해 잡음을 갖는 반사 계수를 획득하는 제 4 단계(S400)와, 상기 잡음을 순차적으로 추정하고 보상하면서 상기 매질의 깊이를 식별하는 제 5 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
