    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing sulfonized phenylsiloxane solid-acid catalyst, sulfonized phenylsiloxane solid-acid catalyst prepared thereby and a method for preparing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from fructose using the same. 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) can be selectively prepared by applying a catalyst prepared via various methods for preparing sulfonized phenylsiloxane solid-acid catalyst to the dehydration reaction of fructose. The sulfonized phenylsiloxane solid-acid catalyst prepared via an optimized synthesis method has very excellent catalytic activities and stability, and can provide an efficient method for preparing the 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) because the sulfonized phenylsiloxane solid-acid catalyst can be separated and reused after reaction and provides excellent activities and stability in a continuous reaction process.
