Abstract: PURPOSE: An operation device for a vehicle is provided to broaden the range of choice of operation buttons or operation screens since the buttons or the screens, which match with the number of fingers, are popped up. CONSTITUTION: An operation device(100) for a vehicle comprises a finger determining unit(63), a converting unit(65) and a pop-up unit(64). The finger determining unit determines on an image(11), which has been taken by a camera(41), whether a target, which approaches an operating unit(40), is a hand. The converting unit converts and outputs the determination signal of the finger determining unit as a display indicating signal. Before a hand(25) touches a touch panel(42), the pop-up unit displays operation buttons(10) or operating screens on a display unit(50) by the display indicating signal, which has been input by the converting unit.
