Abstract: PURPOSE: A valve for an engine and a surface treatment method thereof are provided to reduce abrasion on a valve guide. CONSTITUTION: A valve for an engine includes a buffer layer (14), a middle layer (15), a first nano multilayer (16), and a second nano multilayer (17). The buffer layer as the lowest layer is coated on the surface of a stem part (11), and comprises Ti and Cr. The middle layer is coated on the buffer layer, and comprises CrN, Tin, or TiCN. The first nano multilayer is coated on the middle layer. The second nano multilayer as the highest layer is coated on the first nano multilayer.
