Abstract: Disclosed are a method for controlling a friction coefficient of a tire and a device for performing the method. A vehicle drive controlling method includes a step of performing a first tire friction-coefficient control and determination based on the friction coefficient of the tire and a pedal effort of a brake; and a step of performing a second tire friction-coefficient control and determination based on a road-surface condition factor and threshold factors by road-surface condition. Therefore, a driver can improve driving safety by controlling the braking performance of the vehicle in an adaptive manner depending on a road-surface condition when driving the vehicle.
