Abstract: PURPOSE: An auxiliary oil supplier is provided to measure accurate the amount of residual oil by measuring the amount of oil depending on weight of oil and to supplement oil. CONSTITUTION: A weighing instrument(12) is installed in the lower portion of a gauge rod(11) mounted on the side of an oil pan(10). If the weight of the oil measured by the weighing instrument is less than a reference value over, oil is supplied from an auxiliary oil tank(20) to the oil pan. The auxiliary oil tank is connected with the oil pan via a valve(21) controlled by a control unit(40). The control unit determined opening and closing timing of the valve depending on the weight of oil related with the level of residual oil. The control unit periodically compares weight of oil to the reference weight value. Therefore, the oil pan is always filled with oil of proper amount. By measuring accurate amount of residual oil via the weighing instrument instead of the gauge rod, amount of oil is detected even when shakiness occurs due to noise and vibration of an engine.
