Abstract: PURPOSE: A side airbag device for a vehicle is provided to prevent a blockage of a vent hole and to induce a smooth discharge of airbag gas, thereby improving passenger protecting performance. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag device for a vehicle comprises an airbag cushion(12) and a tether member(20). The airbag cushion is inflated by airbag gas generated in an inflator(11), and a vent hole is formed in a front side end. The tether member is joined to the airbag cushion so that one end of the tether member faces the inflator, and the other end of the tether member faces the vent hole. The tether member is joined in one inner side of the airbag cushion facing passengers.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A wire-contact type airbag module is provided to improve connectivity of a wire and an inflator, and to improve stability for spreading an airbag. CONSTITUTION: A wire-contact type airbag module comprises a cushion, a cover(500), and a wire(W). The cushion is connected to an inflator in which a connector is equipped. The cover surrounds the cushion with the inflator, and a penetration hole(520) is formed on a side unit. One end of the wire is connected to the connector of the inflator, and is surrounded by the cover. The other end of the wire is assembled to penetrate through the penetration hole, and is adhered to the side unit of the cover.

The capacitance between a vehicle body and the sensor unit is changed with the AC voltage component of the first power supply unit according to the electric permittivity of a passenger. The sensor unit generates heat with the DC voltage component of the second power supply unit. Abstract: An apparatus for classifying a vehicle occupant to determine whether to deploy an airbag is disclosed. The classification apparatus includes a sensor which is installed in a seat of a vehicle and is supplied with AC power, the sensor having a sensing conductor and a guard conductor electrically connected to each other, with an insulator interposed therebetween. A controller compares an imaginary current value, attributable to variation in capacitance of the sensor, measured on an output side of the sensor, and a real current value, attributable to variation in resistance of the sensor, with preset threshold values, thus classifying an occupant who is sitting in the seat. According to the classification apparatus, even if moisture permeates into a seat, an occupant can be precisely classified using the real current value and the imaginary current value.
