Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for controlling the knocking of an engine is provided to reduce the occurrence of knocking by predicting the occurrence of knocking and controlling ignition timing. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling the knocking of an engine comprises an engine control unit(10), ignition driving units(TR1,TR2), a knocking detecting unit(22), a comparator(24), an ignition coil module(12), and ignition plugs(14). If a small explosion in an engine is detected by a knocking detecting element of the knocking detecting unit, a first high level signal is inputted to the comparator. A high level signal is applied to the engine control unit. The engine control unit predicts the occurrence of abnormal engine ignition and corrects the present ignition timing.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An ignition control apparatus for preventing knocking is provided to control ignition time of a spark plug accurately by retarding ignition time according to temperature from a thermocouple, and to prevent knocking from overheating of a cylinder by retarding the ignition time. CONSTITUTION: An ignition control device is composed of a battery(9); an ignition switch(10) outputting voltage of the battery; an ignition coil(3); an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,1) controlling ignition time of a spark plug(4) by driving a power transistor(2); a thermocouple(6) installed in a central electrode(5) of the spark plug to detect indoor temperature and output an electrical signal; a temperature detector(7) detecting temperature of a cylinder according to the electrical signal from the thermocouple; and an A/D(analog to digital) converter(8) supplying to the ECU by converting the temperature signal from the temperature detector into the digital signal. The ECU delays ignition time of the spark plug by controlling the power transistor in case of the cylinder temperature to be over the predetermined value. Knocking is prevented with controlling ignition time accurately according to temperature of the cylinder.
