Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a device for dosing fuel which is to be injected into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine are provided to correct one of the amount of preliminary injection and a major injection accurately in few minutes. CONSTITUTION: In a method of inputting a fuel to be injected at a combustion chamber of an internal combustion, the fuel amount divides into at least one of a pre-injection(QP1',QP2') and a main injection. The standards total injection rate for a fixed operating state of the internal combustion engine is stored. An operation time of at least one of preliminary injection rate and a main injection rate is set while the internal combustion engine is operated. A current total injection rate is determined while the internal combustion engine is operated based on the set time. The difference between the total injection rate and the previous total injection rate is decided.
