    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for quantitative-analyzing the rubber content and the grafting ratio of an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS) resin is provided to improve the reliability of measurement with respect to the content of butadiene in the ABS resin. CONSTITUTION: A method for quantitative-analyzing the butadiene content of the ABS resin includes the following: The butadiene double bonds of an ABS resin is substituted into single bonds using iodine chloride in chemical formula 1. Remaining iodine chloride is reacted with potassium iodine to generate iodine molecules in chemical formula 2. The iodine molecules are titrated using sodium thiosulfate(Na_2S_2SO_3) in chemical formula 3. Styrene acrylonitrile(SAN) copolymer is dissolved from the ABS resin using an organic solvent. Insoluble SAN-grafted-butadiene is collected. The SAN grafting ratio of the SAN-grafted-butadiene is analyzed.
