    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods that include contacting a skin surface with a first liquid composition; and then contacting the skin surface with a cationic coated article loaded with a second liquid composition, while at least some portion of the first liquid composition remains on the skin surface, wherein at least one and only one of the first or the second composition comprises greater than or equal to 60 wt% of at least one alcohol.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for removing spores from skin, the method including dispensing an effective amount of a composition into or onto an article, wherein the composition includes water and from about 0.04 wt% to about 4 wt% polymeric cationic antimicrobial, nonionic antimicrobial or combinations thereof; contacting a skin surface with the composition; mechanically acting on the skin surface for at least one (1) second while the skin surface is in the presence of the composition; and removing at least a portion of the composition from the surface of the skin, wherein removing the composition also removes spores from the skin surface.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods that include contacting a skin surface with a first liquid composition; and then contacting the skin surface with a cationic coated article loaded with a second liquid composition, while at least some portion of the first liquid composition remains on the skin surface, wherein one or both of the first liquid composition or the second liquid composition includes acrylate copolymer particles dispersed therein, the acrylate copolymer particles including the reaction product of a reaction mixture, the reaction mixture including monomers, the monomers including from about 5 wt% to about 50 wt% of at least one high Tg monomer where the wt% of the high Tg monomer is with respect to the total weight of the monomers in the reaction mixture; and from about 20 wt% to about 80 wt% of at least one low Tg monomer where the wt% of the low Tg monomer is with respect to the total weight of the monomers in the reaction mixture, wherein the particles have a number average diameter of at least about 100 nm and wherein at least one and only one of the first or the second composition comprises greater than or equal to 60 wt% of at least one alcohol.

    Abstract: An antiseptic composition comprising a multivalent cationic antiseptic present in an amount of 0.05 to 0.5 percent based upon the ready to use composition; an anionic compound which is water soluble in an amount of at least 0.1 grams in 100 grams water at 23°C, wherein the anionic compound is present at a concentration which would result in precipitation of the multivalent cationic antiseptic in the composition without a solubilizing surfactant present; and a solubilizing surfactant selected from the group consisting of zwitterionic surfactants, amine oxide surfactants, micelle-forming nonionic surfactants, and combinations thereof; wherein the solubilizing surfactant is present in sufficient amount to prevent the precipitation; and wherein the composition, with the antiseptic, surfactant and anionic compound combined with each other, is free of precipitate according to Test Method A; and without the surfactant, the composition contains a precipitate according to Test Method A; an oral care kit comprising the antiseptic composition and a delivery device; methods of decolonizing mucosal tissue, decontaminating wound tissue, and pretreating medical devices, comprising contacting the tissue or medical device with the antiseptic composition, and methods of preparing the compositions are provided.
