    Abstract: A switching device (1) for low or medium voltage electric power distribution networks, said switching device comprising: - at least an electric pole (2) comprising a movable contact (4) and a fixed contact (5), which are coupleable/decoupleable one to another; - a circuit assembly (6), which comprises a chain (60) of semiconductor devices (601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606) adapted to switch in an ON state or in an OFF state depending on the voltage applied thereto, said semiconductor devices being electrically connected in series one to another in such a way that a current can flow according to a predefined conduction direction (CD) when said semiconductor devices are in an ON state. The circuit assembly (6) comprises an input terminal (61), an output terminal (62) and at least an intermediate terminal (63) electrically connected with at least an intermediate electric node (64) positioned between two subsequent semiconductor devices (602, 603, 604, 605). The input terminal (61) is electrically connected with said fixed contact; The input terminal (61), the output terminal (62) and the at least an intermediate terminal (63) are electrically coupleable/decoupleable with/from said movable contact (4) when said movable contact reaches different positions (P 1 , P 2 , P 3 , P 4 ) during a movement towards/away from said fixed contact (5) in such a way that different groups (611, 612) of semiconductor devices switch in an ON state or in an OFF state at different instants (t 2 , t 3 , t 4 , t 6 , t 7 , t 8 ) during the movement of said movable contact, depending on the position reached by said movable contact.

    - a movable contact (4) and a fixed contact (5), which are electrically coupleable or decoupleable one with or from another upon a movement of said movable contact towards or away from said fixed contact, said fixed contact being electrically connected with said first pole terminal, said movable contact being electrically connectable with said second pole terminal;
    - a movable circuit assembly (6) including a plurality of semiconductor devices (60) adapted to switch in a conduction state or in an interdiction state depending on the voltage applied thereto, said semiconductor devices being electrically connected in series one to another in such a way that a current (I LOAD ) can flow according to a predefined conduction direction (CD) when said semiconductor devices are in a conduction state, said movable circuit assembly comprising first and second assembly terminals (61, 62) for said plurality of semiconductor devices (60).
    Said movable circuit assembly (6) is operatively coupled with said movable contact (4) and moves together with said movable contact during a movement of said movable contact towards or away from said fixed contact (5), said semiconductor devices switching in a conduction on state or in an interdiction state depending on the position (P 1 , P 2 , P 3 ) of said movable contact.

    Abstract: A Medium Voltage switching pole (1) comprises a vacuum interruption chamber (10) housing a fixed contact (2) and a movable contact (3) moving between an open position in which it is separated from the fixed contact (2) and a closed position in which it is electrically coupled to the fixed contact (2). In the closed position said movable contact (3) has a closed condition in which it is electrically coupled to the fixed contact (2) and a closed and pressed condition in which it is electrically coupled to the fixed contact (2) under a mechanical load forcing it against said fixed contact (2). The Medium Voltage switching pole (1) comprises a movable contact assembly (4) which is placed outside said vacuum interruption chamber (10) and which comprises:
    - a pushrod (5) having a first end (51) which is operatively connected to an actuating drive (100) and a second end (52) which is operatively connected to said movable contact (3);
    - a load counterbalancing assembly (6) comprising a supporting and guiding element (61) positioned fixed with respect to said vacuum interruption chamber (10) and an elastic load counterbalancing element (62) which is interposed between said supporting and guiding element (61) and a first coupling surface (31) on said movable contact (3);
    - a pressing assembly (7) positioned at said second end (52) of said pushrod (5) and comprising an elastic pressing element (71) which is interposed between said pushrod (5) and a second coupling surface (32) on said movable contact (3).
