Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated continuous random access analytical system which has an apparatus and a method whereby a plurality of assays for a liquid sample can be carried out simultaneously with the use of different assay methods, providing a continuous random access, and moreover, carrying out a plurality of different assays to the same or different samples within the same period of time. SOLUTION: Various assays for a plurality of liquid samples are scheduled. Then, a disposable unit quantity is generated, and the first liquid sample 26 and a reagent 30 are separately moved to a reaction container 34 without starting an assay reaction sequence. Thereafter, the disposable unit quantity 34 is physically moved to a process work station. A mixture 34 of the disposable unit quantity of the reagent and the sample is obtained while being incubated.
