PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic continuous and random access analytical system having an apparatus and a method capable of performing simultaneously multiple assays of a liquid samples by using respective different assay methods, enabling continuous and random access, and capable of performing multiple different assays to the same or different samples during the same time, and a method for operating the automatic continuous and random access system capable of performing simultaneously various assays on a plurality of liquid samples. SOLUTION: In this method, various assays of the plurality of liquid samples are scheduled. Then, a unit dose disposable is generated without initiating an assay reaction sequence, and a first liquid samples and a reagent are transferred separately to a reaction vessel. Then, the unit dose disposable is physically transferred to a treatment workstation. Hereby, a unit dose disposable reagent is mixed with the specimens during the incubation.

SOLUTION: Various assays for a plurality of liquid samples are scheduled. Then, a disposable unit quantity is generated. The first liquid sample 26 and a reagent 30 are separately moved to a reaction container 34 without starting an assay reaction sequence. Thereafter, the disposable unit quantity 34 is physically moved to a process work station. A mixture 34 of the disposable unit quantity of the reagent and the sample is obtained while being incubated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic continuous access analysis system 18 for carrying out a plurality of different examinations to the same or a different sample during the same time by providing continuous and random access. SOLUTION: After a plurality of examinations of a plurality of liquid samples are scheduled, the amount of disposal units is generated without staring an assay reaction sequence, a first liquid sample 26 and a reagent 30 are separately transported to a reaction container 34, and the amount of disposal units is physically transported to a handling operation station 52, thus mixing the reagent of the amount of disposal units and a sample 35 during cultivation. The system 18 can execute a plurality of scheduled assays in an arbitrary order and performs assay when many assays are presented by the scheduled assay. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic continuous and random access analytical system that has instruments and methods by which a plurality of liquid samples can be assayed simultaneously by different assay methods and, at the same time, executes a plurality of different assays on identical or different samples during the same period of time by giving continuous random accesses, and to provide a method of operating the system. SOLUTION: In this method, a variety of assays on the plurality of liquid samples are scheduled and a reagent 30 is divided into disposable unit quantities 34. Then first liquid samples 26 and reagent 30 divided into the disposable unit quantities 34 are separately transferred to a reaction chamber 34 without starting any assay reaction sequence and the disposable unit quantities 34 of the reagent 30 are physically transferred to a processing work station 46 to obtain mixtures 34 of the disposable unit quantities of the reagent 30 and samples during cultivation.
