A pediatric nutritional powder and methods of making and using the pediatric nutritional powder are provided. The pediatric nutritional powder includes at least one fruit powder, a carbohydrate system, vitamins, minerals, at least one anti-caking agent, and optionally at least one vegetable powder.

Nutritional compositions have at least 60 g/L of protein, beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate (HMB), and a source of soluble fiber and a source of insoluble fiber. Methods involve preparing a nutritional composition having reduced Maillard browning in a heat sterilized nutritional composition involving providing a nutritional composition comprising at least 60 g/L of protein, beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate (HMB), and a source of soluble fiber and a source of insoluble fiber, and heat sterilizing the nutritional composition.
Abstract:
A nutritional supplement powder and a method of making the nutritional supplement powder are provided. The nutritional supplement powder includes from 20% by weight to 55% by weight protein, from 20% by weight to 50% by weight fructooligosaccharide powder, and an anti-caking mixture that includes calcium silicate and tricalcium phosphate. A weight ratio of the fructooligosaccharide powder to the anti-caking mixture is from 6: 1 to 10: 1.

Liquid nutritional compositions include specific combinations of protein, carbohydrate, and fat for the nutritional support of individuals with particular needs, such as individual suffering from obesity. The compositions comprise a source of at least one omega-6 fatty acid and a source of at least one omega-3 fatty acid with a ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of 1:5 to 1:1. In a preferred form the compositions comprise at least one hydrolysed dairy protein selected from hydrolysed whey protein and hydrolysed casein protein or mixtures thereof. Methods of administering such nutritional compositions are also provided. Further liquid nutritional compositions comprise protein in an amount of 1-12% by weight of the liquid nutritional composition, vitamin C and copper, wherein the protein comprises a mixture of whey protein and casein with a majority of the whey protein having a degree of hydrolysis greater than 20%. Methods for improving vitamin C stability in these liquid nutritional compositions are also provided.
