Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method of synthesizing a zeolite such as [A1]-SSZ-31 zeolite good in purity. SOLUTION: A zeolite is synthesized by drying a mixture of a zeolite raw material with an aluminum-containing substance, an organic template (preferably N,N,N,N',N',N'-hexaethyl-1,6-diazoniahexane dihydroxide or its salt) and water, providing a powdery dry gel, reacting the resultant dry gel while bringing the dry gel into contact with saturated steam and synthesizing the [A1]-SSZ-31. Furthermore, the N,N,N,N',N',N'-hexaethyl-1,6-diazoniahexane dihydroxide or its salt is used as the organic template to synthesize the zeolite.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polyamide excellent in heat resistance, moldability and solubility, expected to have various uses as a functional polymer material such as a photoconductive material, comprising a specific repeating unit. SOLUTION: This carbazole-based polyamide comprises a structure of formula I (R is an alkylene or a hetero atom; R to R are each H or an alkyl; (n) is 5-100). The carbazole-based polyamide, for example, is obtained by reacting (A) N-benzyl-3,4 dibromocarbazole of formula II with (B) a compound of formula III and (C) carbon monoxide in the presence of (D) a palladium catalyst (e.g. palladium-phosphine complex obtained from palladium chloride and triphenylphosphine) and (E) an organic base such as 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7- undecene, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To rapidly produce a polyester useful e.g. as a raw material for a heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant structural material in high efficiency by reacting a dihalogenated biphenyl compound with an aliphatic dihydric alcohol and CO in the presence of a Pd-phosphine complex and a basic substance. CONSTITUTION:The polyester of a biphenyldicarboxylic acid expressed by formula III (n is integer of 1-40) and useful as a raw material for structural material, functional material, etc., is produced by reacting (A) a dihalogenated biphenyl compound expressed by formula II (X and X are Br or I; Y and Y are H or together form methylene, ethylene or carbonyl) (e.g. diiodobiphenyl) with (B) an aliphatic dihydric alcohol of formula II (R is 2-10C bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group) (e.g. 1,6-hexanediol) and (C) carbon monoxide in the presence of a palladium-phosphine complex and a basic substance (e.g. 1,8- diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecene).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To industrially obtain the title compound in good efficiency by adding large-excess phosphine to palladium and reacting a brominated aromatic compound with carbon monoxide and alcohol in the presence of a basic substance. CONSTITUTION:When a brominated aromatic compound expressed by formula I (at least one of X and Y is H, 1-10C hydrocarbon, alkoxy, acyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl acyl, OH, amino or halogen) is reacted with CO and alcohol expressed by the formula ROH (R is 1-20C hydrocarbon) in the presence of a basic substance, a palladium-phosphine catalyst having a ratio of phosphine to palladium controlled to 5-50 is used as a catalyst to provide the aromatic carboxylic acid ester expressed by formula II. The above-mentioned method is industrially advantageous, because effects free from lowering of reaction rate and capable of remarkably improving stability thereof together with increase in catalyst activity are exhibited by using the above-mentioned catalyst.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost catalyst enabling the hydroformylation of olefin with high activity by supporting dicobalt octacarbonyl on an inorg. oxide. CONSTITUTION:Dicobalt octacarbonyl is supported on an inorg. oxide such as silica gel as a carrier by evaporation, dry mixing or other method. The resulting catalyst brings olefin such as ethylene or styrene into a hydroformylation reaction in the presence of carbon monoxide and hydrogen and enables the formation of aldehyde or alcohol with high activity. The catalyst can be produced at a low cost.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an arylethylene glycol or arylacetaldehyde in good yield by efficiently hydrolyzing or isomerizing the epoxy ring of an arylethylene oxide in a specific solvent using niobic acid as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An arylethylene oxide expressed by formula I (R to R are substituent group, such as halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, insert to reaction) is treated with niobic acid calcined preferably at 100-500 deg.C temperature in a solvent selected from (a) water or hydrous solvents and (b) organic solvents to suppress side reaction and afford (A) an arylethylene glycol expressed by formula II or (B) an arylacetaldehyde expressed by formula III under mild conditions using the readily handleable catalyst capable of exhibiting excellent catalysis on ring opening, hydrolytic reaction and isomerizing reaction of the epoxy ring in the aforementioned raw material with hardly any deterioration in activity even in use for a long period.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain hydrogen and ethylene glycol di-tert-butyl ether in high selectivity in one stage by irradiating tert-butyl methyl ether with light in the presence of a group VIII metal complex and acetone. CONSTITUTION:tert-Butyl methyl ether is irradiated with light in the presence of a rhodium or osmium complex compound and acetone normally at 0-53 deg.C temperature in an inert gas atmosphere to afford hydrogen and ethylene glycol di-tert-buthyl ether. White light emitted from a high-pressure mercury lamp is applied to a light source for irradiation with light. Any light source capable of emitting ultraviolet rays other than 400nm can be optionally used. The above- mentioned complex compound is preferably used in an amount of 1X10 to 1X10 mol based on 1mol raw material.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a release voltage so as to form a solar cell by composing an electrode of niobium oxide. SOLUTION: A porous semiconductor electrode is composed of niobium oxide having a large surface area. The niobium oxide desirably has a small primary particle diameter in order to provide a large surface area for the electrode. The niobium oxide electrode is immersed in a solution of a pigment, thereby adsorbing the pigment. It is preferable that substance, which can transport an electric charge by a redox pair of stable ions at a sufficient speed, be used as an electrolyte. The electrolyte containing a redox agent is interposed between the niobium oxide electrode adsorbing the pigment and a counter electrode, and then, the entirety is sealed via a sealant.

The polyester preferably has an average mol.wt. of 1500-200000, especially 10000-50000. The basic substance in the component A is 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecene, etc.
