    Abstract: A crystalline aluminosilicate having the following empirical formula: xM2O.yM'O.Al2O3.zSiO2.nH2O wherein M is an exchangeable cation selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, hydrogen and mixtures thereof, M' is an alkaline earth metal, x is between 0 and 1.5, y is between 0.2 and 40, z is between 12 and 3000 and n is between 0 and 40 and wherein x+y is 1.2 or more, said aluminosilicate having the X-ray diffraction lines of Table 1 of the specification. The crystalline aluminosilicate material is obtained by providing a reaction mixture containing water, a tetrapropylammonium compound and a source of an alkali metal oxide, an oxide of silicon, an oxide of aluminum and an oxide of an alkaline earth metal and having a composition falling within the following ranges: SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio: 12-3000 OH-/SiO2 molar ratio: 0.02-10 H2O/SiO2 molar ratio: 1-1000 tetrapropylammonium ion/SiO2 molar ratio: 0.02-2 alkaline earth metal/Al atomic ratio: 0.03-300, and maintaining the mixture at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient to form crystals of the aluminosilicate. The aluminosilicate is useful as catalyst for converting methanol and/or dimethyl ether into lower olefins.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound readily and in high selectivity, by using a novel crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite containing an alkaline earth metal having stable activity as a catalyst and bringing methanol into contact with the catalyst under a specific reaction condition in a gas phase. CONSTITUTION:Methanol and/or dimethyl ether in a gas phase is brought into contact with an crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite catalyst containing an alkaline earth metal which has 5-6Angstrom pore diameter, a composition shown by the formula (M is alkali metal and/or H; M' is alkaline earth metal, preferably Ca; a=0-1.5; b=0.2-40; with the proviso that a+b>1; c=12-3,000: n:0-40), X-ray diffraction figure shown by the table and is produced by previously adding an alkaline earth metallic salt to a crystal producing raw material in the production of the crystal, at 0.1-20hr weight time space velocity at 300-600 deg.C under 0.1-100atm. total pressure to give the aimed compound, especially ethylene or propylene.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain crystalline silicate similar to ZSM-5 having a specified abnormally grown crystal face by bringing an aq. gel mixture consisting of sources for feeding SiO2, Al2O3 and alkali metal ions, water and a tetraalkylammonium compd. into a hydrothermal reaction. CONSTITUTION:An aq. gel mixture contg. sources for feeding SiO2, Al2O3 and alkali metal ions, water and tetraalkylammonium (R4N) in >=1,500 molar ratio of SiO2 to Al2O3, 0.07-0.15 molar ratio of OH to SiO2, 30-70 molar ratio of H2O to SiO2 and 0.08-0.16 molar ratio of R4N to SiO2 is brought into a hydrothermal reaction. When the alkali metal is K, tetra-n-propylammonium is used as be tetraalkylammonium and the ratio of ammonium ions to K ions is kept in the range of 2.5-3.5. The resulting crystalline silicate is sintered to obtain a crystalline silicate sintered body having >=1,500 molar ratio of SiO2 to Al2O3 and showing the highest peak at 2theta=8.8 deg. of the X-ray diffraction pattern of powder.
