Abstract: The invention proposes a new class of crystalline aluminium silicates and gallium silicates having a crystal structure differing markedly from the conventional silicates with respect to the X-ray diffraction diagrams. The novel crystalline metal silicates are prepared hydrothermically by heating an aqueous mixture, which contains the starting materials for silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide or gallium oxide and alkali metal ions in defined proportions and additionally an aliphatic alcohol, for example n-propyl and n-butyl alcohols, in a defined amount. The crystalline metal silicates prepared in this manner are, in particular after conversion into the proton form by ion exchange techniques, usable as catalysts for the catalytic conversion of methyl alcohol or dimethyl ether in the gaseous form into lower olefins, such as for example ethylene and propylene with high yield and high selectivity.

Abstract: The invention provides a novel highly heat-resistant solid catalyst for the methanation of hydrogen and carbon monoxide into methane. Different from conventional nickel catalysts, the inventive catalyst comprises a binary active ingredient composed of an alloy of nickel and molybdenum and a molybdenum carbide supported on a porous catalyst carrier. The catalyst is prepared by heating a catalyst intermediate comprising the oxides of nickel and molybdenum supported on the carrier in a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide at 500 DEG -700 DEG C., preferably, following a step of hydrogen reduction at 400 DEG -900 DEG C. The most preferable catalyst carrier is a mixture or a composite oxide compound composed of magnesium and aluminum oxides. The methanation reaction can be carried out with the inventive catalyst at a much higher temperature, e.g. 650 DEG C., than with conventional catalysts so that the heat recovery from the gaseous product is greatly facilitated contributing to the energy economy.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To perform cooling without using any daytime electric powder by circulating hydrogen through pressure vessels containing different kind of hydrogen occlusion allays and providing a compressor in a line extending from an alloy discharging hydrogen at a higher temperature to an alloy discharging hydrogen at a lower temperature thereby storing cold heat using night time excess power. CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen generated from a high temperature alloy M1 by passing water of room temperature through a duct 6 in the night time is fed through a hydrogen line 3 to a compressor 5 thence introduced to a vessel 2 containing a low temperature alloy M2 absorbing the hydrogen gas. Generated heat is absorbed by passing cooling water of room temperature to a duct 7. Hydrogen discharging temperature of the allay M1 is matched with hydrogen occulusion temperature of the alloy M2 thus minimizing discharging energy. Refrigerant is introduced from a cooler through a cooling duct and the duct 7 to the vessel 2 in the day time and thermally emitted hydrogen is fed through a line 4 to a vessel 1. Cooling is performed when heat is robbed through endothermic reaction and generated hydrogen is occluded by the alloy M1 thus performing cooling without consuming substantially any day time power.

CONSTITUTION:Methanol and/or dimethyl ether is reacted in the presence of a catalyst of specific aluminosilicate zeolite type containing >=3wt.% calculated as Mg of Mg-containing compound and >=3wt.% calculated as P of p-containing compound at 300-700 deg.C, preferably 320-600 deg.C under 0.1-100atm., preferably 0.5-10atm. total pressure at 0.01-20hr , preferably 1-10hr weight time space velocity to give the aimed compound. A zeolite catalyst modified with magnesium phosphate obtained by blending or supporting magnesium phosphate on a aluminosilicate zeolite is preferable as the catalyst.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform measurement superior in reproducibility by providing a measuring part and a stage and arranging the measuring part at least in the vicinity of the stage. CONSTITUTION:A measuring part 22 and a stage 1 which holds the measuring part 22 and is made of a good heat conductor are provided, and the measuring part 22 is arranged at least in the vicinity of the stage 1. A sample attaching part which elastically presses plural terminals 6 for power supply and taking-out of a detection signal to a sample 2 to fix the sample 2 and a connecting means which connects terminals 6 and a measuring circuit are provided, and the stage 1 is provided with a temperature control means which keeps the stage 1 at a prescribed temperature. Ohmic contact to obtain a linear voltage-current characteristic is obtained at the time of connection between the sample and an electrode, and measured results superior in reproducibility are obtained. Further, the sample 2 generated in vacuum like a vapor-deposited film is measured without being taken out from the vacuum.
