Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the high-temp. superconducting crystallized glass capable of being easily worked into various forms, e.g. film, ribbon, and filament, while keeping its characteristic as a superconductor by using a specified glass composition, melting the composition by heating, and crystallizing the molten composition by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:From 0.02 to 0.08 pts.wt. of Au or Pt is added to 100 pts.wt. of a mixed powder contg., by weight, 3.7-4.9% GeO2 or Ge2O3, 39.0-39.5% Bi2O3, 20.1-20.3% SrO2, 9.4-9.5% CaO, and 26.6-27.0% CuO. The mixture is heated and melted to produce glass, and the glass is crystallized by heat treatment. Colloidal Au or Pt has to be incorporated into the glass as the crystalline nucleus. Accordingly, Au or Pt is preferably incorporated into the starting raw mixture in the form of the aq. soln. of chloroauric acid (HAuCl4.4H2O) or hexachloroplatinic acid (H2PtCl6.6H2O).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacture of a novel superconducting tape material so that desired superconducting characteristics can be obtained by controlling the crystal particle size and/or the quantity of impurities in order to apply an oxide conductor powder to a superconducting magnet requiring very high superconducting characteristics, a superconducting switch requiring a wide range of superconducting characteristics, a superconducting fuse or the like. SOLUTION: At least one layer consisting of Bi, Sr, Ca, Cu, and O and superconductive powder having a structure of Bi2 Sr2 CaCu2 O8 is laminated between silver sheet layers, a sandwich structure in which superconducting powder comes into contact with outer air on all side faces perpendicular to a laminating face is heated under an oxygen division pressure of 810 to 900 deg.C and 0 to 90%, after which the layer is maintained at a same temperature as a melting temperature and the oxygen division pressure is enhanced to perform crystallization.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bendable superconducting fibrous crystal by adding a specific amount of a specific element as an auxiliary component to a raw material for a Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox superconductor, melting and then quenching the mixture and heat-treating the obtained solid in oxygen gas stream. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting fibrous crystal having atomic ratios of Bi2Sr2 CaCu2Ox (x is 7.8-8.2) is produced by preparing a molten mixture having atomic ratios of Bi=1, Sr=0.7 to 1.3, Ca=0.7 to 1.5. Cu=1.5 to 2.5, O=3.5 to 8.8 and M=0.15 to 0.35 (M is one or more elements selected from Pb, Sn, Sb, In, Cd, Ga, Ge, K and Na), quenching the molten mixture and heat-treating the obtained solid in oxygen gas stream. The obtained superconducting fibrous crystal has a merit of bendability and is suitable e.g. as a magnet material for the generation of magnetic field.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a Bi-2223 superconducting tape material by a partially melting method by melting only powder by heating a sandwich structure body in which a superconducting precursor powder layer is arranged between silver sheets at a specific temperature under oxygen partial pressure, and baking it at the same temperature as a melting temperature by increasing the oxygen partial pressure after a crystal grain having a Bi-2212 structure is grown. SOLUTION: Superconducting precursor powder having a Bi-2223 structure is suspended in an organic solvent, and is applied on a silver sheet base material, and after it is preliminarily dried, the other silver sheet is placed, and is pressurized, and a precursor mold is obtained. The precursor mold is heated at 300 to 500 deg.C, and the organic solvent is completely removed, and next, after the superconducting precursor powder is melted at 830 to 850 deg.C under oxygen partial pressure of 0 to 5%, it is baked by converting the oxygen partial pressure into 7 to 20% at the same temperature as melting time, and a grain is excellently grown, and a superconducting crystal grain having a Bi-2223 structure turned into a high orientation is grown. Therefore, a superconducting tape having high critical current density can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a highly densified superconductive product containing highly oriented superconductive whiskers each comprising a single crystal excellent in the superconductive characteristics and solving the problem of weak bonds on the particle boundary. CONSTITUTION:The oxide superconductive whisker composite product comprises oxide superconductive whiskers and oxide superconductive powdery crystals. The superconductive whiskers and the superconductive powdery crystals both comprise Bi, Sr, Ca, Cu and O, and have a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 structure. The content of the superconductive whiskers is 5-40wt.% based on the whole weight of the whisker composite product. The method for producing the superconductive whisker composite product comprises hot-pressing and sintering a mixture comprising (a) 5-40wt.% of oxide superconductive whiskers comprising the Bi, Sr, Ca, Cu and 0 and having the Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 structure and (b) 95-60wt.% of oxide superconductive powdery crystals comprising the Bi, Sr, Ca, Cu and 0 and having the Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 structure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To raise the critical temp. above the temp. of liq. oxygen by embedding a fibrous crystal having a Bi2Sr2Cu1O6 structure (2201 phase) in a specified oxide powder and heat-treating the powder. CONSTITUTION:The raw materials are mixed so that Bi=1.00, Sr=0.5-1.5, Ca=1.0-3.0, Cu=1.0-5.0 and Pb=0.2-1.0 in the atomic compositional ratio. The mixture is sintered at 800-860 deg.C for 5-100 hr in an oxygen atmosphere and then pulverized to obtain an oxide powder. A fibrous crystal consisting of Bi, Sr, Ca, Cu and O and having a Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8 structure (2212 phase) or a fibrous crystal consisting of Bi, Sr, Cu and O and having a Bi2Sr2Cu1O6 structure (2201 phase) is then embedded in the oxide powder, and the powder is heat- treated at 830-860 deg.C for 50-200 hr to obtain the superconducting fibrous crystal with the atomic compositional ratio expressed by the formula (0
