Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer having carbosilaneborazine skeleton and excellent in heat resistance by effecting the hydrosilylation polymerization of a B,B',B"- trialkynylborazine and a bis(hydrosilane) in the presence of a platinum-containing catalyst. SOLUTION: The carbosilaneborazine-based polymer having repeating units of formula III or IV is obtained by effecting the hydrosilylation polymerization of a B,B',B"-trialkynylborazine of formula II and a bis(hydrosilane) of formula II in a molar ratio of 0.1-10 at temperatures of -20 to 200 deg.C in the presence of a platinum-containing catalyst. In the formulae, R1 is an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl or H; R2 is an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl or H; R3 and R4 are each a monovalent group selected from among an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl and H; R5 is an optionally substituted divalent aromatic group or O; (m) is a positive integer; and (n) is 0 or a positive integer. The obtained polymer is useful as a burning-resistant material or a heat-resistant material.

SOLUTION: This compound is a new silylalkenenitriles of formula I (R -R are each an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, an alkoxy, an aralkyloxy, an aryloxy, a trimethylsilyl, etc.; R -R are each H, an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, a heterocyclic, a cyanoalkyl, an alkenyl, etc.; R is an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, a heterocyclic, a cyanoalkyl, an alkenyl, etc.) and useful as intermediates for preparing physiologically active compounds such as medicines and agricultural chemicals. This compound is obtained by reacting a silicon compound of formula II (X is a halogen) having a silicon-halogen bond with 3-alkenenitriles of formula III having a hydrogen atom at α and/or γ positions in the presence of an organic base.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the subject compound useful as photosensitive material, heat-resistant material, material for engineering plastics, etc., in high efficiency by reacting a chain polysilane having plural silicon-silicon bonds with a quinone in the presence of a Pd catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective silicon compound having at least one bis(siloxy) aromatic ring skeleton expressed by formula [R is bivalent aromatic group produced by removing two H atoms bonded to respective two ring carbon atoms separated from each other with at least (a) X (ring carbon atoms) ((a) is 0, 2, 4 or 6) from an aromatic hydrocarbon compound] and useful as photosensitive material, heat-resistant material, material for engineering plastics, etc., can be produced by reacting a chain polysilane having at least two silicon-silicon bonds [e.g. poly(dimethylsilylene)] with a quinone (e.g. p-benzoquinone) in benzene in the presence of a palladium catalyst [e.g. dichlorobis(triethylphosphine) palladium] in a sealed tube at 120 deg.C for 18hr.
