Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reform methane with CO2 without deteriorating a catalyst while ensuring high activity and suppressing the deposition of carbon when Ni is used as the catalyst and to produce a metallic catalyst carried by a highly dispersing and heat resistant alumina aerogel and used in the reforming. SOLUTION: An Ni-Al2 O3 aerogel catalyst contg. nickel highly dispersed in an alumina aerogel is produced by a sol-gel process and the successive supercritical drying and a methane-contg. gas is brought into contact with a CO2 -contg. gas in the presence of the catalyst. The catalyst is produced by adding ethylene glykoxide of a metal such as nickel to a boehmite sol, converting the sol into gel with a pH control agent and them carrying out drying, firing and reduction with hydrogen.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst carrier stably keeping a large surface area even at high temp. and capable of being stably operated over a long pieriod of time by drying an alumina aerogel obtained by gelling a boehmite sol and subsequently baking the same. CONSTITUTION:Nitric acid is added to a boehmite sol to peptize the same to obtain a transparent sol. Urea is added to the transparent sol and, when this sol is held at a specific temp. in a hermetically closed container, it is gelled after about 6hr. The obtained gel is immediately immersed in ethanol to substitute water present in the pores of the gel with ethanol. After substitution, the gel is subjected to ethanol supercritical drying under specific conditions in an autoclave and subsequently baked for 5hr at 1100-1500 deg.C. The gel has a theta-phase even after baking and shows good phase transition suppressing effect. As a result, since an alumina carrier keeps a large surface area stably even at a high temp., it is unnecessary to frequently replace a catalyst when the catalyst is adapted to a catalytical combustion system and the lowering of the function due to the deterioration of the catalyst is prevented and an operation stable over a long period of time is possible.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase specific surface area at high temp. and to suppress the reduction of the specific surface area due to the transition of alpha-phase by firing alumina obtd. by thermally decomposing ammonium dawsonite and carrying out silica coating. CONSTITUTION:Ammonium dawsonite is thermally decomposed at 1,000-1,100 deg.C to form theta-alumina having /g specific surface area. This alumina is suspended in an org. solvent such as alcohol in the form of powder and tetraalkoxysilane such as tetraethoxysilane is added so as to regulate the amt. of silica added to 1.0-15wt.%. The solvent is then evaporated from the resulting suspension to obtain dry powder and this powder is fired at >=1,100 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the interlayer crosslinked clay contg. pillars of different kinds by subjecting the interlayer crosslinked clay having cation exchangeability further to interlayer crosslinking. CONSTITUTION:The base material clay, such as smectite ore, is added to distilled water and the distilled water is stirred to prepare a suspension. The pillar precursors of a cationic oligomer are added to this suspension and thereafter, the suspension is subjected to aging, rinsing, drying, heating and pulverizing to synthesize the interlayer crosslinked clay fixed with the exchangeable cations on the silicate layer of smectite ore, etc. The cations fixed to the silicate layer are desorbed when such interlayer crosslinked clay is subjected to a hydrothermal treatment and eventually the interlayer crosslinked clay having the cation exchangeability is obtd. In succession, the interlayer crosslinked clay having the cation exchangeability is dispersed into the distilled water and the pillar precursors of the different kind are added thereto and the interlayer crosslinking is executed by the method similar to the above-mentioned method, by which the interlayer crosslinked clay contg. the pillars of the different kinds is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an antimicrobial zeolite not changing color with time by sunlight, ultraviolet light, etc., by immersing a zeolite in a solution of ammonium ion, drying and supporting ammine silver complex ion or an amine silver complex ion on the zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A type zeolite is immersed in a solution of ammonium ion having 0.1-10 normal, preferably 0.5-3 normal ammonium ion concentration adjusted to pH7-12, preferably 8.5-10 by addition of ammonia, then the solvent is removed and the A type zeolite is dried at 100-150 deg.C. The prepared A type zeolite is blended with a preliminarily prepared solution containing ammine silver complex ion or an amine silver complex and stirred at room temperature for >=30 minutes to give an antimicrobial zeolite. The content of silver ion is 0.1-15wt.%, preferably 1-5wt.%. 99.9-60wt.% organic polymer is blended with 0.1-40wt.% antimicrobial silver zeolite to give an antimicrobial polymer composition not causing thermal change of color during processing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an intercalated compd. between crosslinked clay layers having improved function and novel function by controlling the amt. of a precursor of pillar to be added to an intercalated compd. in crosslinked clay and changing an amt. of the pillar for supporting a two-dimensional structure. CONSTITUTION:Intercalated compds. in crosslinked clay having different content of pillar are produced by adjusting the amt. of the pillar by adjusting the amt. of a precursor of the pillar to be added to an intercalated compd. in crosslinked clay. Suitable clay to be used is montmorillonite. The montmorillonite has a crystal structure, wherein an SiO2 tetrahedron, an alumina octahedron and an SiO2 tetrahedron are piled up on each other and bonded covalently by sharing O atom of each tetrahedron and octahedron, forming one crystal layer. The procursor of the pillar comprises a cationic oligomer of aluminum hydroxide produced by adding an alkali such as NaOH or NH4OH to an aq. soln. of Al2(OH)5Cl.2.4H2O powder, or aluminum chloride or aluminium nitrate.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable control of pillar amount by carrying out control of pillar amount by controlling exchangeable cation capacity of a clay. CONSTITUTION:Montmorillonite or clay having as same properties as the montmorillonite is used. For example, when Na-montmorillonite is heated in air atmosphere, exchangeable cation capacity is not changed at heating temperature up to 600 deg.C and decreased at >600 deg.C and changed to 0 at 800 deg.C. Therefore, the exchangeable cation capacity can be controlled by controlling heating temperature between 600 deg.C and 800 deg.C. In case of Ni-montmorillonite, the exchangeable cation capacity is decreased monotonously with the raise of heating temperature and can be controlled in wide temperature range. Na-montmorillonite whose Na is subjected to ion exchange with Ni at a prescribed exchange ratio can be also prepared, but linear relationship exists between the exchangeable cation capacity and ion exchange ratio. Utilizing the above-mentioned relationships, the exchangeable ion capacity is controlled to provide the clay interlaminar compound controlled in pillar amount.

While the data setting timing to both registers 502 and 503 are outputted via control lines 508 and 509. A comparator 504 compares data between both registers 502 and 503. Then the discordance of this comparison is reported to the part A501 through a line 501. Thus the unifier A gives a report on the failure to the part 101.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inorg. mesoporous material having superior heat resistance by bringing a mixture of silica, a template agent and an alkali into hydrothermal synthesis, discharging the reaction soln. during the synthesis, adding distilled water and carrying out the synthesis again. SOLUTION: Fumed silica, a template agent, an alkali and distilled water are mixed in a molar ratio of 1:0.25:0.2:35 and the mixture is agitated at 70 deg.C for 2 hr, aged for 24 hr at room temp., poured into an autoclave and held for 24 hr at 120-165 deg.C. Contents are drawn out from the autoclave and filtered to obtain a solid. Distilled water is added to the solid by 30 ml and this mixture is held again in the autoclave at 120-165 deg.C for 24 hr. Then, the contents are drawn out and filtered to obtain a solid and this solid is washed 5 times with distilled water, dried at room temp., heated to 550 deg.C at 1 deg.C/min rate and held for 9 hr to thermally decompose the org. substance.
