Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and safe adsorbent having excellent selective adsorptivity to lithium and large adsorbing capacity and adsorbing velocity by using a bride type aqueous organic macromolecular material as binder for lithium adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:At the time of granulating powder, having lithium adsorptivity, of amorphous aluminum hydroxide, tin oxide containing water, etc., the bridge type aqueous organic macromolecular material of acrylate ester copolymer, etc., containing monomer having functional group of carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, etc., is used as the binder. Then, after granulating, the bridging treatment is executed at 5-180 deg.C. The lithium adsorbent obtd. in such a way, has excellent selective adsorptivity to lithium and large adsorbing capacity and velocity, and further, this is easily separated and recovered even from dilute liquid, has little toxicity, and is stable in water.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare an adsorbent enhanced in the selective adsorbing capacity of lithium by supplying oxygen enriched gas to a ground mixture of a lithium compound and a manganese compound under specific oxygen partial pressure and subsequently heating the mixture to obtain an oxide and eluting lithium from the oxide using an acid. CONSTITUTION:A lithium compound and a manganese compound are ground into a predetermined particle size and mixed so that the mol ratio of lithium to that of manganese becomes about 0.1 - 1.0. Not only oxygen partial pressure is controlled so as to become 0.20 or more but also the resulting mixture is heat-treated at 350 deg.C or higher while air or oxygen enriched gas is forcibly supplied to the mixture to synthesize lithium-containing manganese oxide. Subsequently, lithium is eluted from this oxide using an acid to prepare a lithium adsorbent. As an embodiment of the lithium compound, there are hydroxide, oxide or carbonate and, as an embodiment of the manganese compound, there are hydroxide, oxide or carbonate.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a manganese compound with a low moisture content in which a three-dimensional channel structure is formed at a low cost by treating MgMn2O4 with a solution containing an acidic and oxidizing chemical and extracting Mg. CONSTITUTION:MgMn2O4 is treated with a solution containing an acidic and oxidizing chemical to provide a manganese compound having X-ray diffraction peaks at 4.89+ or -0.05Angstrom , 2.74+ or -0.03Angstrom , 2.47+ or -0.03Angstrom and 2.03+ or -0.03Angstrom spacings. The MgMn2O4 used is produced by mixing, e.g. MgO with Mn2O3 at 1:1 molar ratio, heat-treating the resultant mixture at 1100 deg.C for several hr or mixing a hydroxide, oxide, carbonate, bicarbonate, nitrate, halide, etc., of magnesium with a hydrous oxide, oxide, oxyhydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate, nitrate, etc., of manganese in a suitable combination and heat-treating the obtained mixture at >=400 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain controlled spherical bodies of amidoxime type fibers having high uranium adsorbing ability and easy to handle by binding the central part of a bundle of acrylic fibers having a length several times as large as the diameter. CONSTITUTION:A bundle of acrylic fibers is circulated under heating in a methanol soln. contg. hydroxylamine for a certain time to convert the acrylic fibers into amidoxime type fibers. The central part of the bundle having a length 2-5 times as large as the diameter is bound at regular intervals and cut at each position between the bound parts. The resulting bound bundles are swollen by alkali treatment to obtain spherical bodies as an adsorbent. This adsorbent is easy to handle and has high uranium adsorbing ability, uniformly controlled apparent density and diameter distribution.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance lithium adsorbent reduced in the residual amount of unreacted matter by an method wherein after a lithium compound and a manganese compound are ground/mixed and tumbled in a revolving furnace to be heat-treated lithium is eluted by an acid. CONSTITUTION:At first, a lithium compound and a manganese compound are ground/mixed and the resulting mixture is heat-treated at 350 deg.C more while tumbled in a revolving furnace to synthesize a lithium-containing manganese compound prevented from baking irregularity at the time of heat treatment and having uniform properties. This synthesized compound is treated with an acid to elute lithium. By this method, a lithium adsorbent reduced in unreacted matter and having uniform properties is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare an adsorbent having high selective adsorbing capacity to Li by heating a ground mixture of an Li-compound and an Mn-compound to 350 deg.C or higher and eluting Li from the formed Li-containing Mn-oxide using an acid. CONSTITUTION:A lithium compound and a manganese compound ground into a predetermined particle size are mixed so that the ratio of number of moles of lithium to that of manganese becomes about 0.1 - 1.0. This ground mixture is heat-treated at 350 deg.C or higher, pref., at about 400 deg.C or higher to synthesize lithium-containing manganese oxide. Subsequently, this oxide is treated at about 70 deg.C or lower using an acidic solution with pH of about 3 or less, pref., about 0.1N or more mineral acid to elute lithium, in order to prepare a lithium adsorbent. When treatment is performed at about 70 deg.C or lower, residual lithium is reduced to obtain a lithium adsorbent more excellent in adsorbing capacity.

Besides, a shaping equipment composed of cooling tube 1, stirring blade 2, stirring motor 3, cylindrical vessel 4 and heater 5, in which cooling tube 1 is connected to upper part of the vessel 4 receiving said fiber and said liquid medium, stirring blade 2 is installed within the vessel 4 with vertically connecting bar shaft of the blade to stirring motor 3 along center axis of the vessel 4 and the heater 5 is installed at bottom part of the vessel 4, is preferably used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To Enhancing the traveling capability of a crawler vehicle on an uneven and weak off-road area, etc. by coupling a plurality of rectangular frames longitudinally arranged, foldably with each other to form a flexible vehicle frame and by stretching crawler belts between crawler wheels provided to the vehicle frames. CONSTITUTION:A flexible crawler comprises a flexible vehicle frame 10 composed of flat plate-like rectangular frames 10a, 10a which are arranged parallelly in the longitudinal direction and which are foldably coupled with each other by means of horizontal coupling shafts 11. Each rectangular frame 10a is proviced on the lower surface thereof with right and left bearings 15 for the axles of crawler wheels 12, and the rectangular frames 10a are hinged together through stepped sections formed by cutting out one flat end section of the vehicle frames 10a by one half of the width of the vehicle frames, alternately, through-holes for receiving the horizontal coupling shafts 11 being formed piercing through the stepped sections. In order to use rear wheels 12 as drive wheels, gears 16 are fitted on the axles of the rear wheels 12 which are therefore rotated thereby. The axles of auxiliary wheels 14 are supported on the axles of the intermediate section wheels 12 through the intermediary of joint members 17 with the auxiliary wheels 14 being made to abut against the outside surface of the crawler belts 13 stretched between the front and rear wheels 12.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase a piercing efficiency by spouting on arc part the jet water of high pressure and high speed through the circular aperture of the hollow rod as well as using the continuously fed metal hollow rod as an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A hollow metal rod 1 is used as consumable electrode and the voltage is impressed from a power source 9 to the space with the material 2 to be pierced. On the other hand the jet water 5 of high pressure and high speed is fed to the circular aperture of the electrode 1 by a water feeding pump 10 and sent directly into the arc part. The molten metal and generated gas are discharged through a gap 6 by an arc 7. All the jet water 5 is therefore utilized effectively in the discharge of metal chip and generated gas. With this method the flow velocity of the jet waterstream 5 becomes constant irrespective of the piercing depth, and the piercing efficiency of the arc 7 is increased.
