    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effect a highly efficient coating by forming an annularly-shaped rotating zone of a group of particles supplied into a rotation body-like chamber and spraying a coating liquid into the chamber for application to the group of particles. CONSTITUTION:A group of particles supplied into a rotation body-like chamber 2 by a means 3 is made rotatable in suspension by a stream of air delivered into said chamber by a means 4 and rising spirally therein. This rising spiral stream of air moves the group of particles to the side wall of the chamber by centrifugal action, so that the spacial density of the group of particles adjacent the axis of the chamber will become zero and so that the group of particles will exist within the range well-balanced between the axial component of the force exerted on the group of particles by the rising spiral stream of air and the force of gravity acting thereon, thereby forming an annularly-shaped rotating particle zone. A coating liquid is thereafter sprayed into the chamber by a means 5 for application to the group of particles in its rotating zone, resulting in a highly efficient coating.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the overall separation factor by providing a membrane separator for conducting a countercurrent operation between passages, furnishing a raw liq. input port at the midway of one passage and using the other passage as a passage for a liq. reflux. CONSTITUTION:The raw liq. inputted from a raw liq. input port 7 is introduced into a high-concn. side of a dialysis membrane column 2B, and introduced into the high-concn. side of the column 28 from the bottom on the low-concn. side. A pure solvent is supplied from the bottom on the low-concn. side. Consequently, the solute having a high permeability coefficient is selectively transferred to the low-concn. side in the column 2B. The soln. on the low-concn. side flows upward into a column 2A, the liq. concentrate is circulated, and the solute is selectively separated also in the column 2A. The solute having a high permeability coefficient in the output liq. from the top outlet 16, and the solute having a low permeability coefficient is concentrated from the output 17 at the bottom.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier for immobilization providing an immobilized bio-catalyst capable of maintaining highly catalytic ability for a long period by coating the surface of porous ceramic with a specific electrolytic substance of polymer. CONSTITUTION:The surface of porous ceramic particles are coated with an electrolytic substance of polymer which contains plural atomic groups having electric charge opposite to surface charge formed from the ceramic in water, is linked to ceramic by ion bond and further contains plural liberated ionic groups. In the case wherein the ceramic has negative surface charge, preferably the atomic groups are amine and the polymer electrolyte is a polyamine or pyridinium derivative. On the other hand, when the ceramic has positive surface charge, the atomic groups are preferably carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject gel particle having excellent enzyme activity and low pressure loss, by dissolving an enzyme in an aqueous solution of PVA containing styryl pyridinium group or styryl quinolinium group, spray drying and irradiating active light, then photo-crosslinking. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme (e.g., invertase) is dissolved in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol containing styryl pyridinium group or styryl quinolinium group to prepare a mixture of enzyme and photosensitive resin. Next, the mixed solution is spray dried with a small spray dryer, etc., the dried powder is recovered into a glass bottle by a cyclone, etc., an active light of chemical lamp, etc., is irradiated to the dried powder and the photosensitive resin is photo-crosslinked to afford the aimed enzyme-including gel particle, in which an enzyme is included and fixed in gel particles of 0.1-10mu average particle diameter.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the yield of a fatty acid triglyceride in the production of the triglyceride by contacting a fatty acid with different kind of a fatty acid triglyceride, by using a lipase included in a hydrated gel particle of a specific polyvinyl alcohol, as an enzyme. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl alcohol derivative having a stilbazolium group and obtained by the reaction of a polyvinyl alcohol or a partially saponified vinyl acetate with styrylpyridinium is dissolved together with a lipase in water, and the aqueous solution is added to a hydrophobic medium, and irradiated with actinic light to effect the photo-crosslinking of the polyvinyl alcohol derivative having stilbazolium group and obtain a lipase included in the resultant hydrated gel particle. A fatty acid triglyceride and a fatty acid is made to contact with each other in a solvent in the presence of the above lipase as an enzyme to obtain a fatty acid triglyceride having different fatty acid residue.
