Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate and remove oil content efficiently from the drain of emulsified oil containing nonionic surface-active agent by adding a specific substance as an oil-water separating agent to said drain and then electrolyzing with a solvent electrode. CONSTITUTION:A substance constituting with one or mixture of the three groups, namely a first group constituting with a compound containing aromatic family core such as tannic acid or the like, and carboxyl, sulfone, and the like, a second group constituting with a water soluble high-molecular compound containing carboxyl and sulfone such as polyacrylic sodium or the like, and a third group constituting with anion surface-active agent such as alkyl benzene sulfone acid sodium and the like, is added to emulsified oil drain containing nonionic surface-active agent as oil-water separating agent, mixed and solved sufficiently. Then, as electrode, a soluble electrode is applied to electrolyze said drain. An adequate adding quantity of oil-water separating agent is usually within a range of several to tens of ppm against 1,000ppm or concentration of emulsified oil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively separate and remove oil from emulsifying oil waste water with less electric power in a short time by adding a difficulty soluble polyvalent metallic compd. to the emulsifying oil waste water, and impressing a voltage between both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The emulsifying oil waste water is charged in an electrolytic cell provided with the electrodes, the additive consisting of a difficulty soluble polyvalent metallic compd. such as the oxides of calcium, magnesium, etc., is added to the water and sufficiently dispersed, and then a voltage is impressed between both electrodes. Consequently, the surface activity of the emulsifier is decreased by electrolytic oxidation, the polyvalent metallic ions are eluted by the electrolytic oxidation of the additive and agglomerated, and oil is floated and separated by gaseous oxygen and hydrogen generated by electrolysis. As a result, oil can be efficiently separated from the emulsifying oil waste water by the synergetic effect of the above-mentioned actions.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily deterge the waste water of the emulsifying oil contg. a large amount of a surface active agent by using a filter medium obtd. by mixing an alkaline earth metal compd. or its alloy to a fibrous material, and then forming it to a nonwoven fabric, a pile and a felt like filter mediums. CONSTITUTION:The filter medium is formed by mixing the powders of the alkaline earth metal compds. such as MgO, MgCO3, Mg(OH)2, CaO, CaCO3, Ca(OH)2 and CaSO4, etc., or the powders of the alloy contg. said compds. such as CaSi2, MgCaSi, MgSiFe and CaSiAl, etc., to a synthetic fiber or a natural fiber and then by forming it to a paper like and a laminate structure according to a felt making method or a paper making method. And then, the waste water of the emulsifying oil is filtered by using said filter medium. Thus, an oil component constituting the emulsifying oil and the surface active agent can be removed at a same time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:When a gas diffusion electrode is manufactured by coating a reaction layer containing a catalyst laminatedly on a hydrophobic porous gas transmission layer provided with a collector, to make the manufacture of the electrode easy by using lead dioxide as the catalyst in the reaction layer. CONSTITUTION:A gas diffusion electrode is constructed with a hydrophobic porous gas transmission layer 1, a reaction layer 2 containing a material consisting of lead dioxide carried on carbon black, and a collector 3. As for the collector 3, a copper mesh of 32 in mesh number is used, and as for raw materials of the hydrophobic porous gas transmission layer 1 a mixture of powder composed of hydrophobic acetylene black mixed with 40wt.% of PTFE is used. As for raw materials of the reaction material containing a catalyst to be contacted to an electrolyte, a mixture of respective equal amounts of extra pure reagent lead dioxide powder containing 20wt.% of PTFE and hydrophobic acetylene black powder containing 30wt.% of PTFE is used. Thereby a gas diffusion electrode of high oxidation efficiency and hard to generate deactivation due to poison can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce treatment cost, by using a soluble electrode as an anode while using a solar cell as a power supply to apply electrolytic treatment to waste water. CONSTITUTION:In a waste water treatment apparatus consisting of a solar cell 1 and an electrolytic cell 7, six pairs of electrodes 12, 12A are provided in an electrolytic cell 7 and a separation tank 10 for separating the floc formed in the electrolytic cell 7 is connected to the electrolytic cell 7. A waste water storage tank 5 stores waste water temporarily and also has functions for adjusting pH and the concn. of an electrolyte, and a stirrer 8 and an air bubble generator 9 promote the electrolytic treatment in the electrolytic cell 7 and prevent the surface contamination of the electrodes. When a DC current is supplied to the electrodes, nascent colloidal anodic metal hydroxide is formed from anodes and heavy metal hydroxide is floated and precipitated as floc along with anodic metal hydroxide colloid to be separated from waste water. By this method, a heavy metal can be effectively separated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily separate an oil component, by decomposing the emulsifier in waste water containing emulsified oil by electrolytic oxidation to allow the surface activity thereof to disappear. CONSTITUTION:Waste water containing emulsified oil is introduced into an electrolytic cell wherein an anode is equipped with lead dioxide and a cathode is equipped with an insoluble electrode and electrolytic voltage of 5-20V is applied to both electrodes at temp. of ambient temp.-60 deg.C. By this method, an emulsifier is decomposed and an oil component can be easily separated. Because the oil component insoluble in water receives no electrolytic oxidation, treatment can be performed regardless of the kind of the emulsifier and the kind of the oil component.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent phytoplankton from flowing out into rivers or streams and to keep away environmental pollution by spreading the sedimentation agent consisting mainly of aluminium, calcium and silicon over lakes and waters, and catching the floating phytoplankton to be sedimented down to the bottom of water. CONSTITUTION:The sedimentation agent is used for the sediment of water weeds including phytoplankton down the surface of water, which results in the cohesive effect of water weeds as well as the sedimentation effect of cohesive substance. The sedimentation agent is a composition consisting of aluminium sulphate as cohesive agent for floatings, calcium carbonate having cohesive and sedimentation effects, and silicon compound (kaolin acid white clay, diatomite, talc and Kanuma soil) as sedimentation agent. The weight composition ratio of aluminum sulphate to calcium carbonate is 3 to 1, representing 10wt%-80wt% of the weight of sediment agent containing silicon compound.
