    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase heat transport rates in a heat pipe by allowing bubbles to pass through a gap of the heat pipe thereby facilitating the reflux of condensate to prevent dry-out. CONSTITUTION:In a heat pipe wherein there is a clearance 4 between the inner wall of a vessel and a wire gauze wick layer 2, the wick layer 2 is divided into a plurality of wick segments 2a through axial gaps 5, 6. The gaps 5, 6 between the segments 2a serves as vapor-bubble discharging passages for discharging bubbles 8 into a vapor passage 3 inside the wick layer 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To take out optionally once accumulated heat by a method wherein a heat accumulating part of a primary loop may also act as an evaporator of the secondary loop. CONSTITUTION:In the event that heat is accumulated in a heat accumulating part 15 of a primary loop 12, valves V1 and V2 are closed and valves V3 and V4 are released, and then a heating part 14 filled with the working liquid is heated. The heated working liquid circulates automatically within the loop 12 and the heat is gradually accumulated at a heat accumulating part 15. In the event that the accumulated heat is taken out, valves V3 and V4 are closed and valves V1 and V2 are released, the primary loop side 12 is closed and the secondary loop side 13 is opened. The heat accumulating part 15 is a heating part and then the working liquid heated there evaporates and the liquid is thermally transferred to a condensing part 20. The heat is removed there. The liquid is condensed and again the liquid is returned back to operating liquid of liquid phase and circulates back to the heating part. At this time, a supplying of the working liquid is made stable by a liquid reservoir 21 and at the same time a drying-out of it is prevented. Accordingly, the heat taken out at the condensing part 20 is utilized to change water, for example, into hot water.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a heat pipe of the high heat flux type in which heat from a high-temperature heat source is transferred to a condensation-side end plate with a large area as the heating surface with the temperature in a uniformly distributed state in the transfer of heat. CONSTITUTION: There is provided a vessel 1 which has as components an evaporation-side end plate 3 having a heat-receiving surface 3a in contact with a high-temperature heat source, a condensation-side end plate 4 having a heating surface 4a which is larger in area than the heat-receiving surface 3a, and a cylindrical tubular body 2 connecting the two end plates. On the inner side of the evaporation-side end plate 3 of this vessel 1 there is provided a fin-array part 6 having an array of fins 6a each of which is covered with a wick 9. The evaporation-side end plate 3 is lined with wick 8 around the fin-array part 6 and the tubular body 2, with wick 5. The vessel 1 contains a working fluid under seal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent dryup of the heat transfer surface of an evaporator by engraving cutouts at both upper and lower ends of a cylindrical laminated wick, opening a radial through hole at a position suitably separated from both ends, and concentrically disposing a columnar article with the wick in the evaporator of the vapor passage. CONSTITUTION:Heat is applied externally to the evaporator E of a heat pipe having a wick 11, work fluid is evaporated, vapor is fed to a condenser C, and condensed by heat radiating. The fluid is heated to generate bubbles in an air gap 12 of the evaporator E at the time of starting to heat to rise in two phases flow in the air gap 12. As the bubble rises, a cold work fluid flows from a cutout 11a, a through hole 11c to the gap 12. A part of the rising fluid is discharged through a cutout 11b and a through hole 11d to a vapor passage 13, condensed and fed down along the wick 11. As input heat is increased, the temperature of the fluid in the evaporator becomes uniform to be evaporated and boiled. The wick 11 is so extended as to slightly increase the interval of the air gap 12, a condensed liquid is always circulated, and local dryout is avoided due to sealing fluid quantity reducing effect by a columnar article 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a size of a heat storage tank container, improve a heat storage capability and a thermal efficiency and further improve a thermal transporting capability and an operating characteristic by a method wherein the heat storage tank is arranged at a connection part of two circuits of a flow passage for performing a process under a difference of density of working fluid and another flow passage utilizing evaporation and condensation of the working fluid. CONSTITUTION:Working fluid 3 enclosed at a part of a working fluid flow passage 1 is heated by a heater 4, the heat is moved to a heat storage tank under a natural circulation, the heat is released and stored in the heat storage tank 5. The working fluid 3 discharged heat at the heat storage tank 5 and having its temperature lowered descends in a down-pipe 1-4 due to a difference in density and returns to the heater 4. As a temperature of the heat storage tank 5 reaches a predetermined temperature, an inputting of heat from the heater 4 is stopped and the heat is carried to a cooling unit 6 arranged at a connecting pipe 2-3 between as ascending pipe 2-1 at an upper part of the working fluid flow passage 2 and a down-pipe 2-2. The heat is discharged out of the pipe. The working fluid 3 discharged a latent heat through the cooling unit 6 is condensed and returns to the heat storage tank 5 through the down-pipe 2-2. With such an arrangement, it is possible to improve a thermal efficiency as well as a heat storage capability, provide a small-sized device and improve an operating characteristic.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate or simplify the treatment of scattered cooling water by eliminating the use of the cooling water which directly cools a high temperature article by scattering the water to the article or reducing the water quantity, and heat recovering by operating fluid of a heat drive pump which is not directly brought into contact with the article. SOLUTION: The heat recovering apparatus from high temperature article utilizing a heat drive pump recovers the potential heat of the article 1 to cool the article, and comprises the pump. The pump has a heater 2 having a heat transfer tube heated by the heat radiated from the article 1 above the passage of the article 1. The heater 2 and the operating fluid tank 6 disposed under the heater 2 are connected by an, ascent tube 7 connected to the heat transfer tube via a bent part after extending from above the tank 6 and a descent tube 8 reaching the tank 6 via the bent part from the discharge side end of the transfer tube, and check valves 10, 11 for preventing the reverse flow of the fluid are provided at the tubes 7, 8.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To transfer heat from the upper part of a loop-line to the lower part of it, by raising the discharge pipe of a heat pump connected to an evaporator higher than the upper heat pipe, by constituting a flow passage of loop structure as the whole of a heat pipe device, by providing check valves at the outlet of a cooler and at the rising part of a discharge pipe respectively, and by returning a heating medium in the cooler to the evaporator by a heat pump. CONSTITUTION:When a heat pump 1 is heated and is operated, part of a heating medium 11 is evaporated, and a bubble flow, a plug flow, or a slug flow is produced in the upper and the lower that pipes 2 and 3. At that time the pressure in a loop-line from check valves 5 to 6 including a heating part consisting of the upper and the lower heat pipes 2 and 3 is increased, the check valve 6 is opened, the produced bubbles disappear, and the pressure in the loop-line is reduced. Thereby a cold heating medium is fed into the heating part from a cooler 4. While a discharged heating medium is fed into an evaporator 12 via the check valve 6. The heating medium fed from the outside into the evaporator 12 is heated and generates steam. The generated steam is transmitted to the cooler 4 through a down-pipe 8.
