Abstract:
A host device may include a wireless interface for communications, a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and the wireless interface. The host may receive, via the wireless interface, an advertisement message from a client device. The advertisement message may include an identifier associated with the client and a request for communication of data from a cloud-based service. Responsive to the advertisement, the host may send the identifier to the cloud-based service. The host may receive from the cloud-based service, a proxy indication of available data associated with the client. Responsive to receiving the proxy indication of available data, the host may provide, via the wireless interface, a connection request including a client indication of the available data from the cloud-based service to the client. After receiving the available data from the service, the host may send the available data to the client.
Abstract:
A client device and a host device may create a local connection for providing wide area network access, such as Internet access, to the client device. In some embodiments, the client device may have limited network capabilities and may not be able to access the Internet without the host device. The client device may provide its speed and direction in a message to potential host devices. A host device may calculate a suitability metric, based on the speed and direction of the client as well as connection properties of the networks, which indicates an ability for the host device to connect the client device to the Internet. The host device may provide the suitablity metric within a connection reqeust to the client device. Based on the suitabiltiy metric and/or other factors, the client device and the host device may establish the local connection.
Abstract:
A method for facilitating in-device coexistence between wireless communication technologies on a wireless communication device is provided. The method can include transmitting data traffic from the wireless communication device via an aggressor wireless communication technology; determining occurrence of an in-device interference condition resulting from transmission of the data traffic via the aggressor wireless communication technology interfering with concurrent data reception by the wireless communication device via a victim wireless communication technology; and reducing a bit rate of the data traffic transmitted via the aggressor wireless communication technology in response to the in-device interference condition.
Abstract:
A host device may include a first wireless communication circuit, a second wireless communication circuit including a proxy router, and a host processor communicatively coupled to the wireless communication circuits. The host device may receive, via the second wireless communication circuit, an advertisement message from a client device. The advertisement message may include a request for communication of data with a network. The host device may determine at least one of a communication policy preference of the host device and a network connection property of the host device. The proxy router may select the first or the second wireless communication circuit for use by the host device to communicate the data with the network. The host device may provide, via the second wireless communication circuit, a connection request to the client device, and then transfer, using the selected wireless communication circuit, the data between the client device and the network.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate to apparatus, systems, and methods for reception of calls on a mobile device that includes Wi-Fi and cellular radios. The mobile device may be configured to establish communication on a Wi-Fi network with a cellular carrier. The mobile device may further be configured to register a first IP address with an IMS server for the Wi-Fi network communication and register a second IP address with the IMS server for the cellular network communication (or register different ports of a single IP address with Wi-Fi and cellular). Upon occurrence of a mobile terminating call from the cellular carrier, the mobile device may receive an incoming call notification on one or both of the Wi-Fi network using the first IP address and the cellular network using the second IP address.

Abstract:
A wireless communication device (UE) includes a cellular processor configured to conduct wireless communications according to a first radio access technology (RAT) in a first frequency band and in a second frequency band, wherein the first RAT is a cellular RAT, the first frequency band is in an unlicensed spectrum, and the second frequency band is in a licensed spectrum. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a wireless local area network (WLAN) processor configured to conduct wireless communications according to a second RAT in the first frequency band. In some embodiments, the cellular processor and the WLAN processor are configured to couple to a common antenna for communications in the first frequency band. In some embodiments, the cellular processor may notify the WLAN processor when it is scanning and/or when it is assigned secondary component carriers in the first frequency band. In some embodiments, the WLAN processor may notify the cellular processor when it is transmitting. In some embodiments, the WLAN processor and/or the cellular processor may perform one or more actions in response to such notifications to improve coexistence in the first frequency band.
Abstract:
A method for redundant transmission of real time data is provided. The method can include an edge node in a wireless network sending a first RTP packet including a first real time data frame to a second edge node. The method can further include the edge node determining that a radio link condition is sufficient to support redundant transmission of real time data to the second edge node. The method can additionally include the edge node, in response to determining that the radio link condition is sufficient to support redundant transmission of real time data, bundling the first real time data frame with a next sequential real time data frame that has not been previously sent to the second edge node in a second RTP packet at a PDCP layer of the edge node; and sending the second RTP packet to the second edge node.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to mitigate interference among multiple wireless subsystems of a wireless communication device are described. A host processor obtains configurations for a plurality of wireless subsystems and evaluates whether potential or actual coexistence interference exists between two or more of the wireless subsystems. The host processor provides configuration information and link quality reporting parameters to and obtains link quality reports from at least two wireless subsystems. When link quality for at least one wireless subsystem fails a set of link quality conditions, the host processor adjusts data requirements for applications that communicate through one or more of the wireless subsystems and/or adjusts radio frequency operating conditions for one or more of the wireless subsystems to mitigate interference among the wireless subsystems.
