The UE determines that a triggering event has occurred, wherein the triggering event is based on a set of proximity services (ProSe) path selection and switching (PSS) policies, transmits a setup or update request to a direct discovery name management function (DDNMF) of a 5G core network, receives UE-specific policies based on the set of ProSe PSS policies, and switches from one of a PCS interface or a Uu interface to another one of the PCS interface or the Uu interface.

    Abstract: A fifth-generation core network (5GC) provides 5G radio access network (RAN) services to a user equipment (UE) in a time-sensitive communications (TSC) network (TSN). This includes receiving a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment request from the UE, the PDU session establishment request including an industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) vertical or application type, identifying a TSN application function (AF) relating to the IIoT vertical or application type, determining quality of service (QoS) parameters for communications between the UE and the 5G RAN based on the identified TSN AF, the QoS parameters including a survival time for the IIoT vertical or application type and establishing a PDU session with the UE when the QoS parameters including the survival time are satisfied.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UL traffic throughput enhancements in NSA deployments. A UE may determine that an UL data requirement is substantially greater than a DL data requirement. The UE may perform an UL enhancement procedure based on UL enhancement conditions. The UL enhancement conditions may include determining that a master cell group does or does not operate according to LTE, determining that UL data traffic is only carried via LTE bands or that UL data traffic is split between LTE bands and NR bands, determining that UL carrier aggregation is or is not available, and/or determining that blind secondary cell group addition is supported or is not support by a network. The UE may be configured to perform the at least one UL enhancement procedure thereby enhancing uplink throughput.
