Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for disabling N1 mode in response to several scenarios including an S-NSSAI failure, searching NR PLMNs after a loss of coverage in an attempt to maintain network slices, and triggering a UE to reattempt authentication of a rejected S-NSSAI when authentication credentials change and the UE either has N1 mode enabled or is camped on LTE PLMN that might be the same as the NR PLMN through which the S-NSSAI was rejected.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods and devices for mitigating overheating in a user equipment device (UE). The UE is configured to communicate over each of LTE and 5G NR and may be configured to communicate through 5G NR over each of a Sub-6GHz and a millimeter Wave (mmW) frequency band. The UE is configured to establish an ENDC connection with an enB and one or more gNBs. The UE implements intelligent transmission modification and cell measurement adjustments to mitigate overheating and reduce battery drain.

The method includes determining that a first set of data is to be transmitted in the uplink, assigning a priority value to the first set of data, determining that a second set of data is to be transmitted in the sidelink, assigning a priority value to the second set of data, determining that the first and second set of data are to be transmitted using a same resource at a same time, selecting one of the first set of data or the second set of data to be transmitted first based on at least the first priority value and the second priority value and when the first set of data that is to be transmitted in the uplink is selected, transmitting the first set of data prior to transmitting the second set of data.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a C-V2X capable wireless device configured to operate according to a first sidelink mode where communication resources are allocated by a network and a second sidelink mode where communication resources are autonomously allocated by the wireless device. The wireless device detects a change in a coverage scenario associated with the first sidelink mode; performs resource sensing for the second sidelink mode; and based at least in part on detecting the change in the coverage scenario, transmits first communications using the second sidelink mode, wherein resources for transmitting the first communications are allocated based at least in part on the resource sensing.

Abstract: A base station (BS) may receive, from a network node, one or more data packets including one or more reflective quality of service (QoS) indicator (RQI) markings. The base station may then determine, based on a value of the one or more RQI markings, one or more active uplink (UL) QoS rules associated with a user equipment (UE). The base station may further determine, based on at least one of one or more timers, the one or more active UL QoS rules, and status information received from the UE, to include or refrain from including the one or more RQI markings in a transmission of the one or more data packets to the UE. Accordingly, in response to the determining that the RQI markings should be included, the base station may then transmit the one or more packets including the RQI markings to the UE.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UL traffic throughput enhancements in NSA deployments. A UE may determine that an UL data requirement is substantially greater than a DL data requirement. The UE may perform an UL enhancement procedure based on UL enhancement conditions. The UL enhancement conditions may include determining that a master cell group does or does not operate according to LTE, determining that UL data traffic is only carried via LTE bands or that UL data traffic is split between LTE bands and NR bands, determining that UL carrier aggregation is or is not available, and/or determining that blind secondary cell group addition is supported or is not support by a network. The UE may be configured to perform the at least one UL enhancement procedure thereby enhancing uplink throughput.
