Abstract: Systems and methods provide secondary cell group (SCG) activation and deactivation. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless network may determine bandwidth part (BWP) configurations for a carrier of a primary secondary cell (PSCell) of an SCG for dual connectivity (DC). The UE may move between an SCG activation state and an SCG deactivation state based on the BWP configurations. SCG deactivation modeling may be based on a separate BWP configuration or may be modeled via a separate configuration in radio resource control (RRC) that is applicable to the BWPs in a serving cell.

Abstract: A device may monitor a first search space (SS) corresponding to an active first component carrier (CC), and detect first control information (CI) that identifies an inactive second CC. In response to receiving the first CI, the device may activate the inactive second CC to make it an active second CC. The device may also set up a second SS corresponding to the active second CC, and may monitor the second SS to schedule the active second CC and receive a physical data channel. The first CI may also include additional scheduling information and a start time for reception of the physical data channel. The device may operate in a first bandwidth part (BWP) according to a first communication configuration associated with the first bandwidth part, and may switch to operating in a second BWP and to operating according to a second communication configuration associated with the second BWP.

Abstract: Various systems and methods disclosed herein describe improvements for beam management that leverage virtualization across a vertical polarization (V-Pol) and horizontal polarization (H-Pol). One or more of a user equipment (UE) and a base station may include an antenna array comprising V-Pol antenna elements and H-Pol antenna elements. The UE may determine a number of receive (Rx) beam of an Rx beam sweep are needed, signal this number to the base station, and perform the beam sweep according to one or both of the V-Pol and H-Pol. A UE may use group based beam reporting to indicate to the base station a transmit (Tx) beam upon which downlink MIMO using V-Pol and H-Pol may be supported by reporting a same transmission configuration indication (TCI) corresponding to the Tx beam for both a first Rx beam and a second Rx beam in a group based beam reporting message.

Abstract: Embodiments include a user equipment (UE) and methods performed by the UE. The methods include receiving a measurement configuration request from a network, in response to the measurement configuration request, measuring a quality of one or more uplink (UL) carrier aggregation (CA) combinations, wherein each UL CA combination comprises a plurality of component carriers, generating a message that includes the quality of the one or more UL CA combinations and transmitting the message to the network. Abstract: Reporting potential impacts of sounding reference signal-switching (SRS-switching) to a base station may include determining that SRS-switching is to be performed by a UE. Based on determining that SRS-switching is to be performed, potential impacts to one or more of a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) caused by performing SRS-switching while sharing radio frequency (RF) front-ends (RFFE) between at least a subset of the plurality of RATs may be processed. The potential impacts may comprise at least one of transmit-blanking (Tx-blanking) and receive-blanking (Rx-blanking) associated with one or more of the subset of RATs. A communication that indicates the potential impacts of SRS-switching may be encoded for transmission to a base station. The base station may also provide priority configurations for determining how to handle Tx-blanking, Rx-blanking, and SRS-skipping associated with SRS-switching.

Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for using group based reporting for beam management in a 5G wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) can determine based on a signal-to-interference-plus noise ratio (SINR) or reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement, a ranking of two or more beam combinations, and transmit the ranking to a 5G node B (gNB). The UE can receive from the gNB, a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) codepoint that identifies a combination of two or more beams, where the TCI codepoint is based at least on the ranking. The UE can receive simultaneous transmissions via the combination, and transmit a report to the gNB that identifies by the TCI codepoint, SINRs that corresponds to the combination. In some embodiments the UE can simultaneously transmit on a second combination identified by a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicator (SRI) codepoint.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station including a transceiver configured to communicate over a wireless network with a user equipment (UE) and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor divides a plurality of candidate Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) positions in a time window into a plurality of groups and communicates, using the transceiver, information associated with the plurality of groups of candidate SSB positions to the UE. The processor further performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. In response to the LBT procedure being successful, the processor determines a first group of the plurality of groups and transmits, using the transceiver, one or more SSBs on one or more candidate SSB positions of the first group to the UE.
