Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna system capable of easily improving bad display of a television receiver or hard-of-hearing of a radio receiver. SOLUTION: The array antenna system 100 includes an array antenna 10 and a control unit 20. The array antenna 10 includes a feeding element 2, parasitic elements 3, 4 and varactor diodes 6 to 9. The varactor diodes 6, 7 are loaded to the parasitic element 3, and the varactor diodes 8, 9 are loaded to the parasitic element 4. The control unit 20 includes a solar cell 22 and a control unit 23. The solar cell 22 receives light from a fluorescent light in a room to generate power, and the control unit 23 is started by a DC power from the solar cell 22. Upon the receipt of a particular signal from a remote controller 40, the control unit 23 applies control voltages CV1 to CV4 respectively to the varactor diodes 6 to 9 via control lines 12 to 15 to switch the directivity of the array antenna 10. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna unit having directivity also in the direction parallel to a power feed element and a non-power feed element. SOLUTION: An array antenna unit 50 includes antenna element groups 2, 3. The antenna element group 2 includes a power feed element 21 and non-power feed elements 22, 23 disposed on a main surface 1A of a dielectric substrate 1, while groups of the antenna elements 3 include a power feed element 31 and non-power feed elements 32, 33 disposed on the main surface 1B of the dielectric substrate 1. The power feed element 21 and the non-power feed elements 22, 23 are substantially orthogonal with the power feed element 31 and the non-power feed elements 32, 33. Switches 7, 8 are connected to between two terminals arbitrarily selected from among terminals T1-T4. Varactor diodes 223, 233, 323, 333 are respectively mounted on the non-power feed elements 22, 23, 32, 33. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna assembly operable at a plurality of frequencies. SOLUTION: The antenna assembly 10 is provided with a conductor 1, a feed part 2, and an AC power supply 3. The conductor 1 is a dipole made of a columnar conductor. The conductor 1 has a length L approximately equal to λ, and a diameter r approximately equal to λ/50, when the wavelength of an electric wave is represented as λ. The feed part 2 is provided at a position separated only by a distance of about L/3 from one end 1A of the conductor 1. The power supply 3 supplies AC voltage to the feed part 2. Abstract: An array antenna device (100) includes an excitation element (A0) for receiving a radio signal transmitted, two non-excitation elements (A1, A2), and two variable reactance elements (12-1, 12-2) connected to the non-excitation elements (A1, A2), respectively. By changing the reactance value set in them, the directivity characteristic is changed. In order to obtain a diversity gain above a predetermined value according to the radio signal received, an antenna controller (10) selects and sets one reactance value set according to the signal quality of each radio signal for the two valuable reactance elements (12-1, 12-2) from a first case when a first reactance value set is set and a second case when a second reactance value set is set.
