    Abstract: A system comprising a low observable aircraft (2) having its surfaces oriented at a limited number of directions, and a lightning diverter strip (4, 22, 30) comprising a plurality of electrically conductive elements (8, 24, 32) arranged in a spaced apart relation, each of the electrically conductive elements (8, 24, 32) comprising an elongate portion.     Abstract: A sensor system 2 is mounted to an aircraft fuselage 4 using an interface 6 comprising a pylon. The sensor system comprises a payload which is substantially housed within a store 8. The payload may include a ram air turbine (RAT) 10, sensors 12, processor 14 and transceiver 16. The aerodynamic properties, moments of inertia and mass distributions of the store are arranged to be the same as those for a store carrying a different payload that has already been certified for the aircraft. It is thus intended that a store can be provided which does not have to go through a certification process for a specific aircraft.

    Abstract: For each of a plurality of different time-steps in a time period, a mark is projected onto a surface in the form of a laser dot. For a first portion of the time period, a first sensor, generates a first image or image sequence of the surface with at least a portion of each of the projected marks in that image or sequence and for a second portion of the time period, a second sensor, generates a second image or image sequence of the surface with at least a portion of each of the projected marks in that image or sequence. A process that is dependent upon the respective positions of the mark in the first image or image sequence and the second image or image sequence is then performed, namely the time alignment of the image sequences to temporally align the images sequences or registering the two image sequences. The different time steps may be selected by a pseudo random sequence. The sensors may be of different types e.g. UV, Infra-red, visible light and may be mounted in an aircraft.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for imaging hidden objects are provided. The apparatus comprises an array of magnetic field inducing elements 1 so that the array produces a combined magnetic field 3 resulting from a combination of the element fields. The combined magnetic field 3 is projected from the apparatus into an adjacent space and through a barrier or shield hiding the object. The apparatus includes means to sense a change in magnetic susceptibility of the field caused by the presence of an object in the field. Mapping of the changes in susceptibility onto individual elements in the array enables a visual image of the object to be created. The array may be a linear Halbach array of electromagnets. The strength of the field of each element may be varied in order to vary the sensitivity of the apparatus and the distance from the apparatus at which the object is detected.
