Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing a polymer dispersion by radical polymerization of an aqueous monomer emulsion, characterized in that the monomer emulsion is produced continuously in accordance with consumption. 00000
Abstract:
A polymer which is composed offrom 50 to 99.98% by weight of a C1-C12 alkyl (meth)acrylate a),from 0.02 to 1.8% by weight of a vinyl-aromatic compound b),from 0 to 10% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated acid or an ethylenically unsaturated acid anhydride c), andfrom 0 to 40% by weight of other monomers d), the percentages by weight being based on the polymer.
Abstract:
Aqueous synthetic resin formulations containing A) from 3 to 75% by weight of one or more synthetic resins, B) one or more organic compounds having two or more hydrazide groups, C) from 0 to 10% by weight, based on the synthetic resin A, of benzophenone or acetophenone or of one or more acetophenone or benzophenone derivatives which are not monoethylenically unsaturated or of a mixture of these active ingredients, D) effective amounts of emulsifiers or protective colloids or of a mixture of these active ingredients, E) not less than 5% by weight of water and F) from 0 to 85% by weight of finely divided fillers, with the proviso that the total amount of the monomers d polymerized in the one or more synthetic resins A and of component C is from 0.05 to 10% by weight, based on the one or more synthetic resins A, and the ratio of the number of moles of hydrazide groups of component B and the number of moles of the aldehyde and keto groups of the monomers c polymerized in the one or more synthetic resins A is from 0.01 to 2. These synthetic resin formulations are suitable for coating, adhesive bonding, sealing or impregnating.
Abstract:
A polymer which containsfrom 50 to 99.98% by weight of a C1-C12 alkyl (meth)acrylate a),from 0.02 to 10% by weight of a vinylaromatic compound b),from 0 to 10% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated acid or of an ethylenically unsaturated acid anhydride c), andfrom 0 to 40% by weight of further monomers d), the percentages by weight being based on the polymer and the polymer being obtainable by polymerizing the monomers a) to d) in at least two stages which differ in their content of vinylaromatic compounds in such a way that the content of vinylaromatic compounds in the vinylaromatics-rich stage is at least 5 times as great as in the low-vinylaromatics stage.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous polymer dispersion which may optionally contain mineral additives and/or pigments and which essentially consists of a mixture of A) a 20% to 65% w/w aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of (a) an olefinically unsaturated compound containing one or more carboxyl groups and/or amide groups, and (b) at least two monomers selected from the group consisting of acrylates and methacrylates and vinylaromatic compounds, and B) from 0.1 to 5% w/w, based on the weight of the copolymer contained in component (A), of at least one aromatic ketone of the general formula (I) aryl radical and R1 stands for an aryl radical containing from 1 to 3 radicals of the formula -O-C(O)-O- attached to one or more oxaalkylene groups. Such polymer dispersions are suitable for the manufacture of paints and coating systems.

Abstract:
In a process for preserving a mineral molding by coating the surface of the mineral molding with an aqueous composition comprising an aqueous polymer dispersion, the dispersed polymer P comprises an ethylenically unsaturated acid of the 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid type polymerized into it in free-radically polymerized form.
