PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for preparation of readily water-redispersible and water-wettable polymer powders by spray-drying of an aqueous dispersion of polymer. SOLUTION: The method for preparation of readily water-dispersible and water-wettable polymer powder comprises spray-drying of an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles with admixing of a hydrophilic and of a antiblocking agent, wherein the spray-drying of the aqueous dispersion of polymer particles is carried out in the presence of the hydrophobic antiblocking agent and then homogeneously mixing the obtained polymer particles with the hydrophilic antiblocking agent in the following step. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer dispersion which provides improved mechanical properties such as flexibility and break strength, cohesive force and serviceable time to a hardened material for construction. SOLUTION: The aqueous polymer dispersion is obtained by polymerizing a) at least one kind of ester of acrylic acid and 2-12C alkanol of 40-80 mass%, b) at least one kind of aromatic vinyl monomer and/or at least one kind of ester of methacrylic acid and 1-4C alkanol of 10-40 mass% and c) at least one kind of monoester of 2-10C alkanediol and acrylic acid or methacrylic acid of 2-15 mass%. The dispersion free from ammonia.
Abstract:
Thermally curable binding agents based on an aqueous polymer dispersion, containing an emulsion polymer (EP), a polymer which consists of at least 5 wt. % ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid anhydride (acid polymer SP) and monofunctional or multifunctional epoxy compounds as curing agents. The monofunctional or multifunctional epoxy compound is, preferably, introduced into the aqueous polymer dispersion in a liquid state. The thermally curable binding agent can contain a polymol or an alkanolamine, in addition to the epoxy compound, as curing agents.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thermally hardenable polymer dispersion powder and the use of said powder as a binding agent in particular for fibrous and grainy materials. The binding agent in powder form is obtained by drying a polymer dispersion which comprises a carboxyl-group-containing polymerization component in addition to, optionally, a hydroxy-alkylated amine.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to textile two- or three-dimensional structures formed from fibers and/or ribbons and swellable materials, the fibers and/or ribbons present in the structure and also the swellable materials each being present in such an amount that the fibers and/or ribbons are encased by the swellable materials and the voids in the structure are, in the swollen state, partially or completely filled by materially bound water and the swellable materials used being aqueous emulsions of (co)polymers of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer MON which are applied to the fibers and/or ribbons.
